ÇFARË PO NDODH ME PALLATET E SPORTIT NË SHQIPËRI?
Pallatet e Sportit janë vepra publike me ndikim të rëndësishëm në strukturën urbane të qyteteve tona dhe të lidhura ngushtë me kujtesën kolektive. Modernizimi i tyre nuk justifikon transformimin e karakterit dhe të tipareve arkitektonike, aq më pak shembjen e tyre.
Pallati i Sportit në Tiranë, projektuar nga Koço Miho në fillim të viteve 1960; Pallati i Sportit në Durrës, projektuar nga Sokrat Mosko në vitet 1969–1971; dhe Pallati i Sportit në Korçë, projektuar nga Mauricio Bego në vitet 1973–1976, janë vepra që meritojnë të ruhen si pjesë e rëndësishme e trashëgimisë arkitekturore, kulturore dhe sportive të Shqipërisë së shekullit XX.
Përshtatja e tyre me nevojat bashkëkohore duhet të realizohet duke ruajtur integritetin arkitektonik të veprës dhe pa cenuar vlerat e saj themelore. Ndërhyrjet duhet të ruajnë tiparet origjinale, materialet dhe shprehjen arkitektonike të ndërtesave. Çdo transformim duhet të jetë i domosdoshëm, minimal dhe, kur është e mundur, i kthyeshëm, në përputhje me parimet e ruajtjes së autenticitetit.
Modernizimi duhet të sigurojë vazhdimësinë e këtyre veprave, jo humbjen e identitetit të tyre arkitektonik.

Ndërhyrja në Sheshin “Nënë Tereza” meriton vëmendje të veçantë. Ruajtja e identitetit, karakterit dhe autenticitetit të tij është një detyrim etik dhe profesional ndaj këtij konteksti me vlera të jashtëzakonshme historike, arkitekturore dhe urbane.

Kjo mund të arrihet vetëm përmes një procesi transparent dhe gjithëpërfshirës, të mbështetur në njohjen dhe respektimin e vlerave ekzistuese.

Çdo qasje që sjell një estetikë të re, të panevojshme apo të panatyrshme për këtë kompleks, rrezikon të cenojë koherencën e tij dhe të dëmtojë më tej peizazhin historik urban të kryeqytetit.

Azotiku Fier was one of Albania’s major twentieth-century industrial sites and an important testimony to the country’s industrial, technological and social history.

At present, there is limited publicly available information regarding the extent of the demolition, the structures affected, or the plans for the future of the site.

DOCOMOMO Albania considers the documentation and professional assessment of twentieth-century industrial sites essential before irreversible transformations take place. Their future requires informed evaluation of their architectural, historical and social significance, as well as consideration of possibilities for preservation, transformation and adaptive reuse.

Komplekset industriale të shekullit XX janë pjesë e historisë ekonomike, teknologjike dhe urbane të vendit, si edhe e peizazhit dhe identitetit të qyteteve tona. Për këtë arsye, transformimi i tyre duhet të shoqërohet me dokumentim, vlerësim profesional dhe debat publik.

ALMA 2026 | Opening Session
On 4 June, the first edition of ALMA – Architecture and Landscapes of Modernity in Albania officially opened in Tirana, marking the beginning of the first international conference organized by DoCoMoMo Albania in partnership with the Polytechnic University of Tirana.
The conference was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Akli Fundo, Rector of the Polytechnic University of Tirana, followed by welcoming remarks from Prof. Dr. Andrea Maliqari, Advisor to the Rector for Internationalization, and Dr. Ani Tola, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism.
The opening session concluded with a keynote lecture by Prof. Uta Pottgiesser, President of DoCoMoMo International, who reflected on the challenges and perspectives of the heritage of modernity in an international context.
Bringing together researchers, architects, and heritage professionals from Albania and abroad, ALMA 2026 established a new platform for dialogue, research, and collaboration on the architecture and landscapes of modernity in Albania and beyond.

Sonte, ju ftojmë të na bashkoheni për një shfaqje speciale të filmit “Kryeqyteti Ynë” (1976) si pjesë e ALMA 2026, Konferencës së parë Ndërkombëtare të DoCoMoMo Shqipëri.

I prodhuar gjatë periudhës socialiste të Shqipërisë, filmi ofron një portret të rrallë kinematografik të Tiranës, duke dokumentuar transformimin urban të kryeqytetit, arkitekturën monumentale dhe jetën e përditshme përmes lenteve të kinematografisë shtetërore të viteve 1970. Shfaqja do të nisë me një prezantim të shkurtër nga Elian Tanini (AQSHF) dhe Gjergji Islami (DoCoMoMo Albania), e ndjekur nga një diskutim që reflekton mbi kujtesën, trashëgiminë moderniste dhe përfaqësimin e qytetit në film.

Tonight, join us for a special screening of “Kryeqyteti Ynë” (1976) as part of ALMA 2026, the first International Conference of DoCoMoMo Albania.

Produced during Albania’s socialist period, the film offers a rare cinematic portrait of Tirana, documenting the capital’s urban transformation, monumental architecture, and everyday life through the lens of 1970s state filmmaking. The screening will start with a short introduction by Elian Tanini (AQSHF) and Gjergji Islami (DoCoMoMo Albania), followed by a discussion reflecting on memory, modernist heritage, and the representation of the city in film.
