20 years ago today, my Vanquish SDP, the first of just 94 ever built, was road registered by AML as their press car and featured in many magazine road tests inc Autocar, Evo, Car and even the French publication Auto Hebdo. It was retained at Newport Pagnell as the development prototype of the forthcoming S model and has several unique features. In my 13 year ownership, it’s won many awards, including “Historically Important Car Of The Day” by its genius designer Ian Callum

Finally got “down with the kids” and joined insta. This was the highlight of 2023 and a genuine “Bucket List” event. Best mates @stevecholerton53 , David and son @ollyhopping took my GT 40 from my home in Norfolk to my home near Le Mans to participate in the Centenary Le Mans Classic. 1000 miles and no trailer. We broke down 3 times but nothing our genius engineer Steve couldn’t fix en route. He”s our very own #burtmunro ❤️😱🏁 by @doctor_houx

For those of you that don’t know, I’m a radio presenter on @kl1radio , a commercial radio station serving West Norfolk. My show is “The Real Music Society” and features talented musicians from the 1960’s to now, who write and play their own music. No “AutoTune” here 😂. I’m on Sundays 6 to 8 pm and there is a catch-up service on our website, KL1Radio.co.uk. Requests and suggestions for the various features on the show are very welcome, so Give it a try, and get a shout out, as I need all the listeners I can get 😉. 🎶 🎼 🎵 📻 @kl1radio . #realmusicsociety. by @doctor_houx

October 27th is National Black Cat Appreciation Day. Black cats 🐈‍⬛ are the least adopted colour for 2 reasons. Firstly they are thought to bring bad luck in some countries and secondly, some say they are difficult to photograph for social media 🤷‍♂️ . We absolutely love 🥰 black cats, and these photos show they are very photogenic. It’s coming up to a year since we adopted our latest mini-panther Dave, and all he has brought us is unparalleled joy, love and affection. He’s got a fresh fillet of Cod 🐟 for his dinner as it’s his favourite. Happy Black Cat day little boy 🐈‍⬛❤️ @catsprotectioncentralnorfolk #blackcat #minipanther #nationalblackcatday by @doctor_houx

Don’t Panic! 🫨 Saw something about cyber attacks and storms cutting off the power and water, so stocked up on a few items this morning 😉. Even dug the old camping gaz stove out 🔥 Mind you, I’ll probably be vaporised in a nuclear ☢️ blast before I can get the tin opener out the drawer 😂. #armageddon #worldwar3 #dontpanic #dadsarmy 😱 by @doctor_houx

With the nights drawing in and the Barn starting to feel decidedly chilly 🥶, it’s great to have a furry black friend on my lap, warming me up. What a lovely friendly boy Dave is. 😍 🐈‍⬛. #blackcat @catsprotection by @doctor_houx

Back in May, I posted how much I missed my @maserati GranCabrio that I sold back in 2021, and that my BMW 6 Series Cabrio was very similar and very competent but lacked the looks and sound of the Maser. So here we are 5 months later and another GC is back on the fleet 😍. I tried to track down my old car with no luck 🍀, so I bought one with virtually the same spec. This one has Cuio (tan) leather as opposed to Avorio (cream) in the last one, but other than that, it’s identical. The last photo is my old one…..spot the difference 😂I’ve put on all the upgrades in a couple of weeks that took me over a year to do on the last car, and its been great to connect with all my old mates on the @sportsmaserati.garage forum again. 😎 These cars are so rare and underrated. The looks and sound 🎶 are just sublime 🏁 by @doctor_houx

Visit to @classicsonthegreen final meet of the year @dabbling_duck_pub in Great Massingham. Fresh from taking 1st and 2nd place in the Whitsun Trophy @goodwoodrevival last w/e, @lexham_engineering brought the 2nd placed @alexbrundleracing driven Lola T70 Spider, still showing signs of its efforts with a coating of race grime. @stevecholerton53 and I went in my recently acquired @maserati GranCabrio, and after a spirited drive around the lanes chasing a Porsche GT3RS, we parked up next to an outstanding @scuderiaferrari 355 manual spider with exactly the same tan leather trim as the Maser. Nick brought his GT40 with a fresh lick of paint in a very unusual colour, and we then inspected the best of US and British muscle, with an @astonmartin DBS 6 manual with wires in OHMSS @007 spec, complete with bullet holes in the screen courtesy of SPECTRE. What an outstanding selection of vehicles in a tiny village in Norfolk 🇳🇫. Easy Sunday Morning? Not likely 😎🏁 by @doctor_houx

People talk about Bucket 🪣 Lists, but this was a genuine day in my life I will never forget. A charity track day @goodwoodmotorcircuit hosted by @96f1champ Damon Hill and 5 times @24hoursoflemans winner @derekbellracing. So many “pinch me” moments including chatting with those guys and 1970 Le Mans winner @richardattwoodmotorsport whom I last met 10 years ago at a similar track day @silverstonecircuit. Highlight was the track action laps with @garywright, with his e-type, @horatioracing in his 911T and ending with #duncanpittaway wrestling the 🔥 breathing monster #beastofturin decked out in a shirt and tie no less. These guys showed me just how much I still have to learn with driving skills in historic racing. Every apex taken perfectly 😍👌. Unforgettable 😎🏁 by @doctor_houx

need to go on a diet again! It’s been a gastronomic Birthday celebration 🥳 over the last few days. It started with @sandramorgan8641 and I going to the @guntonarms which is consistently voted best Gastropub in Norfolk 🇳🇫 for some meat cooked on an open fire 🔥 in the restaurant. Then next day we were joined by @rachhopz and @ollyhopping who treated us to more delicious grub 😋@bedingfeldarms. For some unknown reason, they have a statue of @johnlennon in the garden, so we got our Beatles garb on in tribute 😂😎. Finally yesterday, it was the turn of James and Brais to come over to cook 🧑‍🍳 a very authentic Paella 🥘 for us in their huge gas fired pan 🦐 🍚 . Taking it easy today with some light fruit 🍇 and sandwiches so I’m in good order for my @veventsvgroup Trackday @goodwoodmotorcircuit 🏁 on Wednesday. #paella #gastropub by @doctor_houx

Our last cat Kipper loved 🥰 his stuffed toy Kipper fish 🐟 and always took it with him to keep him company when he went to “Cat Hotel” 🏨 when we were on holiday. Today for the first time, it was so lovely when Dave gave it a sniff and then rested on it. We like to think he can still smell Kipper Cat 🐈‍⬛ on it. Our rescue Cats make Sandra and I so happy and show such love ❤️ and affection. Truly part of our little family. @catsprotectioncentralnorfolk #familymadeoffur by @doctor_houx

Dave our rescue cat 🐈‍⬛ was pretty underwhelmed by the Eclipse ☀️ and decided to stretch out and cool off on the coffee ☕️ table. Like me, he has a particular fondness for a big cross plane V8 😍🏁 by @doctor_houx
