A new chapter, Literally!

I can announce I’m officially repped by @ericsmithrocks at @neighborhoodliterary for my next book! 📚✨

Twenty rejections. Then a yes from my dream agent.

I won’t pretend those no’s didn’t sting. When you’re putting so much of yourself into the work, it’s hard not to take them personally. But sometimes the universe works in ways you can’t see yet, putting you exactly where you’re meant to be.

Now, I get to step into this next chapter with an agent I’d dreamed of working with. I’m excited, grateful, and absolutely not acting normal about it.

Yes I plan to celebrate and I can’t wait to share what I believe is the next work I was called to write.

ALSO, I say all of this to say: KEEP GOING! You’re so much closer than you think.

There have been so many days where I question why keep working at my queer non-profit, why I write, why I turn on my podcast microphone or why I keep pitching myself to speak on stages. Then, I have moments like this week where something so big happens and I’m like, “oh. That’s why I’ve been called to do it.”

Again, and I can’t say it enough: thank you @senatorcervantes for seeing how hard it has been, how hard it continues to be but how much better WE are going to make it in the coming days.
