This week we are joined by iconic and legendary MTV host @daveholmes to discuss what it means to create culture and how so many of us have LGBTQ+ people to thank for it. We also discuss what songs from yesteryear taught us about ourselves and why we need to make MTV gay again.

Reading is freaking awesome. When I was a young girl, my mom regularly took me to the library. As I got older I stopped reading because I got distracted and I fell asleep trying to read at night. I never let myself enjoy audiobooks because I thought it made me lazy. I'm very happy to report I was wrong. I've been devouring audiobooks the last few weeks.
Here are four of my favorites written by friends and industry folks I admire. My hard copies of these book sat on a shelf far too long. Now thanks to the @lapubliclibrary and the free @libby.app I've finally listened to each of them. These are all stellar listens or reads whichever works for you. I highly recommend checking them out.
1. A Mother's Guide to the Apocalypse by my dear friend and fellow Texan Hollie Overton will keep you on the edge of your seat and make you ponder should I become a prepper?

2. Black. Fat. Femme. by my multi-hyphenate, multi-talented friend Dr. Jon Paul is such a beautiful read. Dr. Jon's journey to self-love will inspire anyone that's faced similar battles of wondering where we fit in this world.

3. Joyful Recollections of Trauma by Paul Scheer had me laughing and crying and I'm grateful for the experience. Paul is a comedy force I hold in the highest regard. He continues to carve his own, successful path for sharing his voice and we're all better for it. Thank you Paul for showing us how your own Tragedy + Time = Comedy.

4. Nice Try by Josh Gondelman took me back in time to the glory days of Twitter. We had so much fun on that app. Your Twitter Pep Talks were a warm blanket in this often cold industry. I loved reading about your career path, falling in love with Maris, and becoming a dog parent to Bizzy the pug.

This week @blkfatfemmepod is joined in the third and fourth chair by famous LA couple @trinoxadam. The gang (all pun intended) talks about life, finding and keeping love and what it takes to love yourself in a world that is often asks you to be “out” in silence.

Listen on @iheartradio or wherever you get good (or bad) podcasts!

Dark Harbor this past weekend was SO much fun. 🚢 👻 👨‍✈️ Surprisingly it was my first time. I’ve stayed on the queen mary before but Halloween + a haunted ship? Hell yes.

@meta censored what I actually wanted to say, so let me instead offer this:

We won’t just thrive in spite of him. We will survive him.
