My 10-Year Timeline Bio...My Truth ⤵️

2013: Took a gap year and studied in Scotland. Lost 15 pounds because I was broke, eating 1 meal a day. 😫 Betrayed by a close friend and was ready for the research program to END.

2014: Moved back to the US. Graduated from medical school and started residency! Worked 28 hours straight at times.

2015: Came out to my family. Parents totally not accepting. Cared more about what their friends would think. Moved into a cute townhouse in Washington DC with my boyfriend.

2016: Got married to my biggest supporter and gentlest man I know - Paul ❤️. Mother diagnosed with early breast cancer. Despite a very strained relationship, forgave her 🙏🏾 I found peace in forgiveness.

2017: Full fledged, board-certified physician 🎉 Realized very quickly more money, more problems and big taxes.

2018: 🌎 Travelled often - Vancouver, Amsterdam, Provence, Paris, Ghent. Gained weight like crazy! Job was too robotic. I needed a challenge.

2019: Promoted to chief of hospital medicine. Felt like I was actually making a significant difference in hundreds of patients. Loved the work but hated the politics of management.

2020: Left healthcare management for primary care. Lost family and friends to COVID, felt helpless. Grew closer to my sister - now a best friend. 😁

2021: Grew my private practice quickly. Realized I’m an undercover extrovert. Started working on personal development and searching for my life’s purpose.

2022: Started Krave Wellness. 👨🏾‍💻 🤔 My "Figuring It Out Year…"

2023: Launched my first wellness retreat. Grew my instagram account to over 10k 🤯! Fell into a depression after my dog Odin died unexpectedly. Cried every day for nearly 30 days and withdrew from social media. Now I can smile when I see videos of him.

P.S. That's my 10-year Timeline Bio from challenges, hardships, hopes, to aspirations. What I learned was forgiveness and resilience. What I'm seeking is purpose.

🙋🏽‍♂️ It's never too late to seek your life's purpose and make meaningful changes, even if it means stepping away from what's familiar.

Bacon Alert: The Hidden Damages to Your Health ⤵️

Bacon, something that I honestly love too and might seem like the perfect start to your day BUT there are so many hidden dangers it poses to your health!

🥓 Skin: The excessive intake of bacon can wreak havoc on your skin. High in saturated fats and loaded with sodium, it can lead to inflammation, acne flare-ups, and premature aging.

🍔 Gut Health: Nitrites and nitrates used in processing can turn into harmful compounds in your digestive system, harming your gut microbiome and barrier.

🕰️ Aging Accelerator: The carcinogens formed during cooking can accelerate cellular damage, contributing to premature aging.

🌱 A Healthier Choice: If you’re concerned about your skin, gut, and long-term wellness, consider healthier alternatives. Opt for leaner protein sources like turkey or plant-based options to protect your health and digestive system.

🙌 Share this post with friends and family to spread awareness about the hidden health risks of bacon.

Is magnesium the solution to your abdominal cramps? 🤔

Magnesium is a mineral that often doesn't get the attention it deserves, but your gut certainly knows how important it is. This mineral is involved in muscle relaxation to enzyme function, magnesium does it all!

😫 A big issue is that low magnesium levels can contribute to those IBS symptoms. Magnesium plays a big role in muscle relaxation, including the smooth muscles of your intestines.

When magnesium levels are low, your gut may become more prone to spasms and contractions, which can lead to pain, cramping, and irregular bowel movements—common experiences for many with IBS.

For people with IBS, magnesium deficiency can exacerbate symptoms, making managing IBS challenging! 😰 But by making sure you have an optimal magnesium level, you can help alleviate some of these issues and support your gut health.

Do you know your magnesium level? 👨🏾‍⚕️

Are do you know much magnesium you need to keep your gut happy and healthy?

The recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for magnesium varies by age and gender:

👉🏽 Adult Men: 400-420 mg/day
👉🏽 Adult Women: 310-320 mg/day

It’s best to get your magnesium from whole foods but some folks may benefit from magnesium supplements. So you want to choose the right magnesium formulation:

Magnesium Glycinate 💊 known for its high absorption, and it is a gentle form that may be less likely to cause digestive discomfort. It can be helpful for those with IBS who are sensitive to other forms.

🙋🏽‍♂️Ready to Reset your IBS? Let’s get you the solutions you’ve been searching for. My DMs are open, and I would love to hear from you!

Before starting any new supplement regimen, it's crucial to consult with a healthcare provider or registered dietitian.
