Such a wonderful day at @twisterellafestival yesterday. Ten hours of live music around Middlesbrough for under 30 quid, headlined by Glasgow's finest, @waltdisco. How very lucky we are to have @thekidsaresolidgold bring this to Teesside each year to see old favourites and discover new ones. Thanks so much to @borolou and @tenpennydreams for their company, to my husband for popping across to keep me company for a wee bit around greyhound duties, and to @garethjhancock01 for the lovely natter. Who knew that Huddersfield was the place to be on a Tuesday night? Not I. Thankfully a last minute decision to get to the final date of the @hopeandsocial tour paid off and a final fix of joy was had along with a lot of fun and dancing. New songs sounded excellent (have I mentioned you should check out the new album?) and a top support slot from @leobrazilmusic (I too like bats! 😁🦇) Thanks everyone who spent time with me last night 💙 Sleep is for losers... I should have seen this wonderful lot in Pocklington on Thursday night, but I was still shaking off a virus and reluctantly stayed home. So, feeling better, I took myself to Leeds last night instead because I couldn't miss a whole tour - and now my soul is healed as well 💙 Thank you always, @hopeandsocial, @nath_brudenell, to Handmadehands for an excellant support set and to @borolou and Joanne for keeping me company 💙 Go and buy the new H&S album because it and they are brilliant. by @dogeareddawn

A lovely week away with my boys, staying in Little Downham and visiting Ely, St Ives, Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge and more whilst consuming as many books as I could from both the cottage library and the one in the bus stop in the village. Perfect 💙 by @dogeareddawn

Ah, the eternal paradox of the music-loving, anxious introvert. I always want - no, 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 - to be up front for live performances. I don't enjoy gigs if I'm further back - I get scared if I'm in the middle of a crowd, plus I'm vertically challenged and want to be able to see the show. But up front there's always the risk of being approached by one of the band and then, as I told friends yesterday, I panic because I don't know how to react and 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘺 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦! 😂 So I try to show that I am actually enjoying myself, despite the inner terror. Sometimes it even works - see? 😄 Thanks to @antonio.barbaro84 for capturing the colour and the joy that @mrwilsonssecondliners always bring to the party (and to @carrie_ann_coxon who did the same, but I decided that nobody needs to see more than one photo of my face at a time 😉) by @dogeareddawn
