My 2026 word of the year is Dazzle! I feel the Dazzle in my day because I had partial highlights done today at Pro-Level Looks Hair Studio in Morinville by Janelle. I love my grey hair blending into the blond. Thank you Janelle!🤩

Some ladies can rock their grey hair but I am not one of them. I prefer to have highlights to blend the grey. Whatever works for you, that is what you should do. I choose to Dazzle!🤩😃 by @dollybolen

Sitting on my back deck for probably the last time yesterday afternoon before I will put the cushions away on the couch outside. I didn’t get that much time on our back deck this Summer or Fall. I love to be outside listening to the birds chirping. Today it is going to be colder.🇨🇦🍁🍂🥰 by @dollybolen

This afternoon I drove into Edmonton to snap some photos of the Edmonton Skyline. Not as easy as it sounds but I came up with a plan for next time. I did walk a very nice path close to University of Alberta. A change of scenery is always great for artistic inspiration. by @dollybolen

Today was so windy. I had to mow the back lawn one last time so I braved the wind and got it done.

Billy found a hornet’s nest on the back of our knife board in our back yard! He took the hornet’s nest off with his bare hands. Fortunately the hornets had vacated the nest. Scroll to see the photo of the hornet’s nest.🐝🫪 by @dollybolen

I taught “A Taste Of Zentangle” yesterday afternoon at the Allied Arts Council of Spruce Grove. I had one student Debra who never tried Zentangle style art before so it was a fun experience for both of us. This is her tile on a Colourized Squarescape Tile© from my “Escape To Zen Tile Line.”

As a special gift I included a black Sakura Apprentice Pen, three tiles, a pencil and a blending stump in a bag. She was the only one who registered so I thought I could make her happy with some extra gifts for her to take home.

Whether one person or twenty people sign up for my classes, I treat every person with kindness. Being kind is my number one priority when I teach.🥰🎨 by @dollybolen

I have plenty to smile about today because I started teaching Zentangle in person again at the Allied Arts Council of Spruce Grove this afternoon. I will be teaching Zentangle style art every Tuesday and Thursday starting next week in October! Today was just “A Taste Of Zentangle,” one hour of getting to know what Zentangle is all about.😃🩷🇨🇦

More about my classes in another post.🥰 by @dollybolen

Happy Thanksgiving Canada!🇨🇦 🍁 I am grateful for my beautiful family and friends! Thanksgiving in our home means roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, salad and pumpkin pie. We did not make our own pumpkin pie, we bought it from the CO-OP in St. Albert.😃🥧

Plus we always do an art activity together during the Thanksgiving weekend either art or something outside. This year it will be putting together a creepy puzzle Billy bought me a few years ago for Christmas but I asked for a Christmas puzzle. The people in the puzzle have no faces, they are blank, that is creepy to me. I am grateful for the puzzle but I don’t want to put it together alone! We will finally put it together as a family.🫪

I bought this table runner quite a few years ago but always forgot to use it. This year I put together an autumnal display on our table using my glass pumpkins, some little ornaments and the leafy table runner. I thought if I didn’t use it, I was going to give it away.🤣🧡

Everyday I am grateful for all the wonderful people in my life! I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving, no matter what day you celebrate! Thanksgiving Day in Canada 🇨🇦 is tomorrow.🦃🍁🥧🍂🥰 by @dollybolen

Our weather turned snowy last night! Today it has snowed non stop. Sweater and toque weather now. I wore my blue fur vest today that I bought in Switzerland last year. It was so cozy! Happy snow day everyone!🤩❄️ by @dollybolen

I have been having a wonderful time Sketching with my friend Barb Bradley who I teach twice a week. This is a fun Sketch we did on September 16, 2026 online on Zoom. Barb is a fabulous Artist who jumps into any kind of art with pizazz!

Barb’s Sketch is on the right if you scroll and my Sketch is on the left here. We coloured with Crayola Super Tips Markers. Sometimes we don’t finish the entire sketch but that is okay. by @dollybolen
