I’m Dom — a doctor by day, magician by obsession.

Somewhere between sports injuries and sleeved cards, I found a love for magic that won’t let go.

I’m not a full-time performer. I’m not trying to be perfect. But I am here — chasing wonder, practicing sleights, and sharing the process along the way.

Thanks for following as I build this new chapter. I’m just getting started.

Some people stop for a drink after work. I stopped for a little magic. 🪄

Made a quick detour to Seattle’s @marketmagicshop , tucked inside Pike Place Market.

A little piece of Pacific Northwest magic history, packed with books, cards, and things I probably don’t need but absolutely convinced myself I do.

Walked in to browse. Walked out with a few books, a new deck of cards, and considerably less money.

No regrets. 🃏😂

Just your average lunch break in sports medicine. 🩺🪄

Some people take a walk. Some grab a coffee.

I apparently have a problem with gravity. 🃏😂

A doctor, a Rubik’s Cube, and a room full of women walk into a room… 🧠🪄

Not the beginning of a joke. Just my Thursday night.

Had an absolute blast at @summitpacificmedicalcenter Ladies’ Night Out, talking about women’s bone health, reading a few minds, and discovering that some people are a little easier to read than others. 😉

A little medicine. A little mystery. A whole lot of pink. 🩷

Huge thanks to everyone who came out and to the Summit Pacific Medical Foundation for having me!

First major mentalism show in the books.

Audience: 5th graders.
Assistant: my 5-year-old daughter.
Difficulty level: expert.

A gym full of 5th graders is a very honest place to test a mystery. No fake reactions, no polite theater laughs - just immediate feedback from the toughest room in show business.

It was chaotic, sweet, hilarious, and exactly the kind of room that makes you better fast.

The suspicious transition into mentalism continues. 🔎✨

The suspicious transition into mentalism continues.

I picked up the 1914 Eclipse ESP Deck in parlour size for stage/parlour work, and the new AF ESP Deck by Alexander Marsh for closer-up experiments.

Both are gorgeous.
Both have clever hidden systems.
Both make me feel 18% more mysterious.

The AF ESP deck also lets you replace the classic wavy lines with a triangle, which is huge because the wavy lines have never looked like “psychic waves” to me.

They look like bacon. 🥓

So now I have:
○ circle
+ cross
□ square
☆ star
△ triangle
🥓 forbidden breakfast symbol

The mentalism arc has begun.

Mentalists/magicians: what’s your go-to ESP deck or routine?

Leaving Vegas after a very magic-heavy stretch felt different this time.

I didn’t just come home with photos, show memories, and a suspicious number of cards in my bag.

I came home with notes.

After seeing Mac King with our Magic & Mystery School class — and getting to sit and talk with him afterward — plus Ghost Stories, The Conjurors, Late Night Magic, David Goldrake, and more live magic than is probably medically recommended, I realized I’m not watching the same way anymore.

I still love the fooling part. Obviously.

But now I’m watching pacing, character, silence, structure, audience management, and how performers let impossible moments breathe.

Biggest lesson?

I’m not just collecting tricks anymore.

I’m studying presence.

Deeply inspiring. Mildly inconvenient.

Still learning. Still taking notes.

Late Night Magic was an absolute blast.

Funny, sharp, chaotic in the best way, and exactly the kind of intimate Vegas magic show that reminds you why live performance is so much fun.

Huge thanks to @hollieenglandofficial and the whole @latenightmagic crew for such a great night — and for pulling me into the madness.

If you’re in Vegas and want magic that feels up close, unpredictable, and wildly entertaining, this one belongs on the list - @themagiciansroom! 🃏✨

Still processing a full week at McBride’s Magic & Mystery School.

I went to Vegas thinking I was going to learn more magic.

Which I did.

But I also came home thinking much more about presence, character, storytelling, feedback, audience connection, and what kind of magician I actually want to become.

It was inspiring, humbling, exhausting, occasionally ridiculous, and exactly the kind of creative reset I needed.

I got to perform, receive feedback, watch incredible magicians work, meet new friends, and spend a week surrounded by people who genuinely care about mystery as an art form.

Huge thanks to @mcbridemagic, the Mystery School team, and everyone who made the week so memorable.

Still learning. Still growing. Still obsessed. 🃏✨

Came for sleight of hand.

Left with fire of hand. 🔥

Thanks for the upgrades, @mcbridemagic.

Stepped into a magic shop at Disneyland…
walked out with inspiration. ✨

The Magic Shop on Main Street is now run by @vanishingincmagic — and it truly feels like stepping into a corner of magic history.

Huge thanks to Xavier for the warm welcome and spot-on recommendations.

Picked up a new mentalism book, an Invisible Deck restock, sponge balls, and my first-ever set of linking rings.

Back to practice. ♠️🪄 by @dom_does_magic
