oof 😮‍💨 don’t have a big caption planned out for this one but it is STUNNING. anlac polishes usually make me feel like a princess, but this one is a level up. it magnetized so well and had such a good formula. by @donkdoesnails

TLDR this is my get-inspired-to-lock-in mani.

polishes used:
@penelope_luz i’m so cute (2 coats, bar magnet)
@holyorderofperpetuallacquer recondite (1 coat)

recondite is for ~obtaining abstruse knowledge~ which i for sure need some of that energy, and i’m so cute adds to that cuz i always feel a little smarter and more capable when i feel confident in myself!
it helps that they also look really adorable together 🥹 by @donkdoesnails

this is a very special mani i did to celebrate one of my best friends nicollete @theclawgrimoire 💖 she so kindly sent me some of the alligator bone polish that she made. she has a whole thing about it on her page and i definitely suggest you check it out! she also HAND DREW the bottle lable which is BEAUTIFUL.

polishes used:
@mooncat tales of ba sing se (2 coats, magnetized with @glassbeadpro)
bayou bones lacquer (@theclawgrimoire) alligator bone black (light)
@holyorderofperpetuallacquer spiritualism

i should have used a lighter base to really showcase alligator bone black (light) but it added a subtle overall darkness to the mani which i love, and if you look close you can see the lil black flakes, which are made from alligator bones 🐊

and i highly recommend the opal toppers that bea (holy order) makes. i really need to get the whole set. they just add so much magic to every mani.

DARK GREENS COMPARISON POST!!!

green has been my favourite colour for the longest time so of course i have a plethora of dark greens to compare! 2nd picture is labeled but i will put polishes used here as well:
@crackedpolish wicked root (pointer, 2 coats)
@beeskneeslacquer hate me for eternity (middle, 2 coats)
@lemminglacquer skooma (ring, 3 coats)
@hauntedpolish the wilting rose (pinky, 3 coats)

luckily for me, none of these are dupes (in my opinion).

wicked root is a different formula than all the others, where it’s just smooth. and i gotta say this polish is OPAQUE AS HELL. if i did a better job applying just the first coat, this is definitely a 1 coater.

hate me for eternity is similar in that it also has potential to be a 1 coater. i really like this one. it was one of the first bees knees polishes i ever got and it has an almost blackened base and that gorgeous green sparkle. i think it is my favourite out of the bunch.

skooma i thought would be more similar to the wilting rose but i’m glad it isn’t. it’s hard to tell but it does actually have a similar purpleish base like the wilting rose, but its a lot lighter in tone than any of the others greens.

and the wilting rose, it is so gorgeous and it definitely leans the most blue/more multichromey compared to the others. this is probably my second favourite.

ok this might be one of the best combos i’ve done in awhile. they just work so well together. i don’t have much to say besides hot damn!!!!

all i will say is that while i have griped about bees knees reflective glitter polishes being super thick and difficult to work with before, this polish had no issues like that for me. it went on super smooth!! i was quite pleased with the formula on this one. by @donkdoesnails

@beeskneeslacquer “what’s a little blackmail between friends”

this one is tough!!! i think it is pretty difficult to photograph but videos show its true beauty. it’s STUNNING in direct lighting in motion, but i get how it could be slept on, since it is hard to capture and in lower lighting it can look a bit dull. i have literally nothing else even remotely similar to this polish in my collection. i put 1 coat of peach jelly by @cirquecolors as a base to try to obscure my nail line a bit and i used 3 coats of black mail, with my @glassbeadpro !

i really like this polish. i think it will make a great topper too. will definitely play around with this one more :•] by @donkdoesnails

ohhhh my gosh i love this polish. i have had it for a hot minute but for some reason i haven’t worn it before?? why?? i don’t know! but i am really loving this colour on my skin tone! i did use 1 coat of @cirquecolors blurple jelly to add some opacity but honestly i think it was unnecessary. i did 3 coats of aki and i did the demagnetizing before i used my @glassbeadpro on the last coat. again, biggest shout out ever to @polished.calico for showing me this technique because it literally makes it look so much cleaner. i will never stop praising u for this i’m sorry 😭

@beeskneeslacquer new moon, new me 🌝

i just wore this in a skittle but i wanted to wear it on its own because i think this is my favourite polish from my last bkl order!! this beautiful champagne grandma gold is maybe my perfect (and by perfect i just mean my favourite) shade of gold?? i just love it so much. it’s almost kind of dingy and grungy in the best way 🌛 if i had to pick 1 polish to wear for an extended period of time that i wouldn’t get sick of, this would definitely be a contender.

i also tried the demagnetizing technique that @polished.calico told me about and it works so well! i’m not the best at explaining since i’ve only tried it a couple times now but if you want me to try definitely let me know!! it makes it look so much cleaner at the cuticle line. by @donkdoesnails

when this came back i think for hhc encore?? i knew i had to have it this time around, because i literally had a dream about this polish lol. and now my dream is a reality because this polish is so beautiful. i wore this in 2 coats, on top of 1 coat of @crackedpolish vanille for a lil extra opacity. by @donkdoesnails

i got my @glassbeadpro in the mail yesterday so i had to play with some of my fine particle magnetics from @beeskneeslacquer !
polishes used:
by the light of the moon (left pinky)
by azura (left ring, right pointer)
quiet strength (left middle, right thumb)
bog dweller (left pointer, right pinky)
scream with the cicadas (left thumb, right middle)
new moon, new me (right ring)

i got some great magnetic tips from people yesterday so next time i think they will turn out better, but i do love this colour pallette and i think it looks so chic! by @donkdoesnails

i got The Most stunning foxglove flowers from @warmfieldflowers on saturday and i was of course, immediately inspired to do a mani!

polishes used:
@crackedpolish butter (1 coat as a base to try to get that yellow tone to show through)
@awesome.nail.polish moonlight (2 coats, magnetized with my @5dprintfactory glass bead tool)
and @mooncat freshly bitten (used a dotting tool)

i love the way this turned out so much. the only thing i would do differently is probably use a brighter yellow for the base colour next time, since butter is very muted and while on my swatch stick it came through really well on my actual nails it was a bit lost. but the gold shimmer in moonlight really pulled it all together. quite possibly my favourite nails i’ve ever done!

i mixed up all the photos so some are taken outside in overcast lighting and some are under my snakes UVB light so if you do have any questions about lighting on a specific picture lmk! otherwise they’re all just jumbled. it was so hard to choose which picture to put first 😩 by @donkdoesnails
