First of all, this is all on me. I am the full cause of why I am here. I take 100% responsibility for the demise of my decade long marriage. My childhood trauma played a huge role in it as well. I will regret it for the rest of my life.

No one tells you how tough this will be. There is no blueprint. No manual. No book. My tribe. My therapy. My Somatic breathing techniques. Nothing stops these tsunami size waves that come with this experience.

Quiet days are the enemy. Silent nights are the devil. Grief does not have a time schedule. It wakes me up and puts me to bed sometimes.

I was triggered by my son’s toothbrush and how we brush our teeth together. Today we didn’t and that sent me down a rabbit hole.

Men feel too. We feel as deeply as everyone else. My prayer rug is full of tears. They say 1 day at a time. The never told you it was Groundhog Day. #humanshealth #mensmentalhealth #divorcesucks by @donmega24

Dad, strength is more than what you lift in the gym.

It is staying healthy enough to pick them up, carry them when they are tired, play until they are laughing, and keep showing up while they still think Dad can do anything.

One day they will be too big to carry. Make sure you are strong enough for every chance you get before then.

Men, strength does not mean pretending you are okay all the time.

Every man needs at least one brother he can be completely real with. No performance. No judgment. No pretending.

If you have that brother, appreciate him. If you do not, start becoming that brother for somebody else.
