The hardest design decisions are often the ones that leave the least visible trace.

It's easy to fill a room. It's far more difficult to know when to stop.

In a bedroom, every element should earn its place. The colour palette should quiet the mind. The materials should invite touch. The proportions should feel balanced. And the details should support one another rather than compete for attention.

A room designed for rest shouldn't ask for your attention. It should gently encourage you to slow down.

That's often the difference between a room that's simply beautiful and one that truly feels like home.

We’re often asked if we work outside Toronto and the answer is “of course we do!”

This was an extensive renovation in Ottawa that we designed from top to bottom in collaboration with Ardington and Associates.
We left no stone unturned when it came to detailing and selection of materials. It’s the perfect marriage of modern and classic and a total stunner. It’s such a joy to show off this house tour! 😘

A peek into my art and design studio in the summer. I created this magical space about 10 years ago and added a skylight, antique doors from Sam at @thedoorstore, and heated floors with antique clay tiles from France.

As is often the case, this renovation organically developed when I did the major renovation of my basement — perfect timing to extend plumbing and electrical from the house to the garage.

Before, it was a dark, damp, and dingy garage and now it is my favourite place to be.

The Winners Circle dining room strikes a sweet spot between elegance and comfort, hosting holiday gatherings just as comfortably as daily meals.

What made this project so fulfilling was the opportunity to refurnish the entire home, selecting every piece down to the tableware.

«Mon objectif était de créer une maison qui reflète ma personnalité», explique Rayner Conway, qui a troqué sa grande maison pour un condo deux fois plus petits.

Avec la designer maximaliste Cynthia Ferguson, elle ose les couleurs et motifs dans l’ensemble de son nouveau toit, ce qui lui donne une personnalité exubérante et plus grande que nature.

Thrilled that this lovely cookbook I worked on with the amazing Ronny Joseph and the uber talented Laura Branson has been released early! It was a very special project. #torontofoodphotographer Posted @withregram • @primal_gourmet I am overwhelmed with joy, excitement, gratitude and pride to announce The Primal Gourmet Cookbook: It’s Not a Diet if it’s Delicious, fully endorsed by @Whole30, available for PRE ORDER NOW!
.
This cookbook is very much a dream come true and it WOULD NOT have been possible without the incredible support of this community. So, THANK YOU! Thank you for welcoming me into your homes, for cooking and sharing my recipes with your loved ones, for watching the “low-budget cooking show,” and for reading the blog. And to the many who found the book on their own and let me know they already pre-ordered, you have my undying gratitude 🙏
.
The book has exactly 123 recipes, 120 of which are either Paleo and/or Whole30 - a much easier way of saying they’re free of gluten, grains, refined sugars, and dairy. None of the recipes, however, lack what I think is most important: FLAVOR! They’re delicious, versatile, intended for all skill levels, and include tips and techniques to help you become a better home cook
.
The book is available for PRE-ORDER ANYWHERE BOOKS ARE SOLD (released Sept 1). I also encourage you to please seek out your local, independent bookstores and place preorders there as a way to support small businesses during this time
.
I know, Sept 1 feels like lightyears away (even to someone who’s been keeping this a secret for nearly 2 years!), but over the following weeks I’ll be sharing exclusive sneak peeks and some other very exciting announcements!
.
PS You’ll notice that there are two covers: one for US and one for Canadian markets. Not to worry, though - the “guts” of the books and the recipes in them are identical. These decisions are above my pay grade, but I think it’s pretty awesome!
