One week on from Cambridge Pride 2026, and we still can't get over what an AMAZING day it was!

The atmosphere across Jesus Green was incredible, full of joy, community and celebration 🥳 Thank you to everyone who came along, took part, supported our traders, cheered on the parade, watched the performances, volunteered, or helped make the day possible 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

I apologise in advance for the soppiness of this post.

This was me back in late 2024 when I first noticed signs that something was majorly wrong with my body. Months of back & forth with doctors appointments, hospital visits, tests, antibiotics and more led to the discovery that a health condition that I was born with, one that I had undergone several life-saving operations with from birth, one that I thought I had beat, one that I had locked away in my brain, one that I had never disclosed to even those closest to me had come back with a vengeance. Suffice to say, I was pretty fucked off with this news.

2024 & 2025 were years of waiting. I put on a brave face at work & in my social life, trying not to let anyone know that anything was wrong. When things got really rough, I dosed myself up with tablets to get through or completely nope'd out of people's lives until my body was ready to leave the house again. I even stopped drinking rosé which was an utter bombshell for the wine industry.

Today I was told that my recovery after my February operation was a success & this ordeal has come to an end. There might always be a part of my brain that is terrified this will come back again but for tonight, at the very least, I can truly rest.

To everyone that accepted my absence from their life without question, that checked in, that never demanded an answer to a text, that sent me care packages, that put up with a completely different Jamie than the good time gal that they've always known, thank you.

To Cameron, thank you for never looking at me any different & for always placing a cat within arms reach when you know I needed one.

And to Jamie reading this back, even on the darkest days ahead of you, remember what you've just beat. Now put your feet up & get a rosè hen. You've done well. taken in Kent, United Kingdom by @doodlebugimage
