Doonya: The Bollywood Workout is a high-energy, incredibly fun yet scientifically backed dance fitness program that is rooted in South Asian moves and music.

Our journey began right here in DC, which @kajaldesaidance & @priya_pandya started to bring authentic, accessible Bollywood dance to the world. Our instructors have since taught classes in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Delhi, Houston and many more places. Here’s where you can find our DC classes today:

• Mondays 6:00 pm at @unionmarketdc w/ Rathna
• Mondays 7:10 pm at @mintgymstudio w/ Jeannie
• Tuesdays 6:15 pm at @e_dcjcc w/ Jeannie

this is your chance to start your Saturday off on the right foot while taking in the heart thumping beats of the dhol —all to benefit a really important organization that gives back right to our own community here in the DMV.

On a serious note, as you can imagine funding has been especially tough this year for organizations like DVRP who do such important work to help survivors of domestic violence. It felt so good to bring Doonya back to Fiesta Asia on June 1 after a decade long hiatus. Along with fellow instructors (L to R) @reeltoruna, @chaiandchillies and @doonyawithrathna, we led an interactive Bollywood dance session. Love spreading the Doonya love, especially in these exhilarating settings.

Thank you to everybody who danced with us, especially DOer @chanarose3 and our former Doonya ops queen @subwaywoes. Huge shout out to @fiestaasia founder @wuipingyap who has kept Fiesta Asia going for almost two decades! 👉👉 for some videos and more photos as well as a shout out to my favorite @thesareesneakers that made their debut that day.
