Putting this carousel together brought me back to so many moments that shaped who I am today.

For a long time, I believed pushing through was just who I was. I didn't realize I was living in survival mode because it was all I have ever known.

Looking back now, I can see that every challenge, every loss, and every turning point was a teaching that led me here.

Not to become someone new, but to remember who I was beneath.

If you’re exhausted from holding it all together, there’s always another way.

It's never too late to come home to yourself. 🤍

I have to admit… some days different parts of me show up depending on where I am or who I’m with. I’ve lived so many lives, carried so many identities, and sometimes I hold back out of fear of being too much. And other times, you get judged for being too little, too hard, too direct, too emotional, too logical… too anything.

What I’ve learned is this: you will never win trying to fit into everyone’s expectations. Especially when you are living a life that doesn’t look like the typical path… not the traditional Asian route, not the American one, maybe not any cultural script at all.

But it’s mine. And honestly, I am living the best life little doris could have ever imagined.

What matters is feeling at home in myself and honoring who I have been, who I am, and who I am becoming.

So today, I am celebrating all versions of me, past, present, and future.

I’m grateful for every experience and every soul who has walked with me, near or far.

Forty-five and still ever evolving. HBD to me 🤍✨

A little peek at where we’ll be retreating this October 🌿

Think warm jacuzzis, cold plunges, saunas, yoga, breath, rice paddies, and plenty of space to unwind.

Being here is already making me excited for what we’re creating together. ✨

I think there's a different kind of freedom
that comes from traveling alone.

No one to wait for.
No one to make plans around.
No familiar place to run back to.

Just you, figuring out where to go,
what to eat, what to do with the quiet.

For me, it was a whole afternoon with no plan,
and nothing needing to happen.

And somewhere along the way,
you realize you actually LIKE your own company.

And funny enough, being alone
leaves more room for everyone else.

Conversations you'd never have had with a travel buddy.
Strangers' stories. Glimpses into other lives
& cultures you'd have walked right past.

Maybe that's the part of traveling that stays with you the longest…
coming home to yourself, and finding connection everywhere you go 🤍

For 18 years, I thought being good at life meant being able to keep going.

Keep working.

Keep achieving.

Keep everything together.

I built a career that gave me the safety I had always wanted, so leaving it felt TERRIFYING. But somewhere underneath all that achievement, I knew I was losing connection with myself.

When I finally left finance in 2019, I didn't have everything figured out.

I just knew I couldn't keep living on autopilot.

Years later, after yoga, breathwork, somatics, therapy, and a lot of uncomfortable inner work, I realized something:

Sometimes you don't need to push harder.

You need to create enough space to hear yourself again.

And maybe that's what choosing yourself actually looks like.

It can feel like you're throwing your whole life away.

But you're not. You're choosing a life that's more aligned with your heart…

one that finally feels like home 🤍 by @doris.ay

Never did I ever think… 🥹

On Sunday, a gf & I were talking bucket lists and decided, let’s just go to Vegas & experience the Sphere. At the time I didn’t even know what the Sphere was… but I sure knew the Backstreet Boys. That same week, on Saturday, I was on a video call with AJ from the Backstreet Boys @backstreetboys . Yes, that AJ.

He was so kind to offer tickets for me & my friends, and invited us to a friends & family event after the show. Tell me that’s not manifestation ✨

The Backstreet Boys were a big part of my life. I actually have a recording of myself singing one of their songs 🙈 And funny enough, my bestie’s daughter (8 at the time!) & I have almost the same video, singing “I Want It That Way” a cappella.

Going felt like such a far-fetched idea. I live in Bali, my gf lives in Hong Kong, and Vegas is… not close. But the moment we told our people, everyone was ready to fly out & make it happen. I didn’t know how it would all come together, I just trusted the universe & the magic of it all. And then we got the most amazing seats ever.

Here are the first 3 minutes of the show 👆 This is probably the most incredible show I’ve ever experienced. Like AJ said himself, it’s like watching two shows at once. The seats moved, everything vibrated, we sang to every song & I felt like I was in a whole different world. So much nostalgia.

And to top it off, we got to meet the boys, & AJ sat & chatted with us for a bit. Words honestly don’t do it justice. I’ll carry this one forever, in my body, my mind & my soul.

AJ @aj_mclean (& everyone involved), thank you so much for making this happen. I’m eternally grateful. And to my yoga bootcamp bestie, I’m so happy I got to share this with you. I love you forever ❤️✨

Who was your Backstreet Boy? 👇 Mine is obv AJ 😉

"Just slow down."

I used to hear that and want to scream.

Because I couldn't. Not wouldn't. COULDN'T. It was so automatic. My body had spent so many years in go mode that stillness didn't exist, and the second I stopped, I'd find something else to fill it with.

My nervous system had forgotten what safe felt like at rest.

Yoga is what slowly started to change it. Over a long time. And then one day I realized nothing was going to fall apart. I didn't need to chase anything. Everything moved the way it was going to move anyway.

I was just home in NYC, a city that moves at exactly the speed I used to live at. Walking past my old offices, honestly, it was just cool. No charge. No pang. Just a set of buildings where a version of me worked very hard for a very long time. That felt like proof of something.

But the buildings weren't the hard part. The pull I still feel is a quieter one… the urge to see EVERYONE, to fill every square of the calendar, to make the most of every minute. Saying no to the people I love has always been harder than saying no to work ever was.

This trip, I did both. I couldn't see everyone, and that was okay. I let work slide so I could actually be present with the ones I did see. I kept some days for myself… and for surprises I couldn't have imagined.

Feeling a tad behind, and the old me would've panicked. But the work will always be there.

If slowing down feels impossible right now, your body just needs to be shown, slowly, that it's allowed. And if you ARE slowing down and feeling a little behind, don't feel guilty. You're not lazy. You're letting your body catch up with you… and letting life's surprises find you 🤍

Somatics & Trauma-Informed Breathwork with Doris Au-Yeung

14 November 2026
Pacific Place - Admiralty

This workshop explores the relationship between your nervous system, your breath, and your body, and offers practical ways to move out of stress and back into balance.

Through somatic awareness, breathwork, and guided movement, you’ll learn how stress and tension accumulate in the body, and how those patterns can be released safely. But release is only half the work. Underneath the tension are the stories about who you have to be that your body has been holding on your behalf. This is where the rewrite happens: while the body is open, we work with the subconscious directly, so a new belief lands as a felt state rather than an idea.

The session moves between understanding and experience: embodied movement, breath practice, stillness, and space to reflect on what surfaces.

You’ll leave with tools you can actually use in daily life, and a clearer sense of what your body has been carrying.

Open to all levels. No previous experience with somatic work or breathwork needed.

** Please bring a journal and pen – there’ll be space to write **

I don’t know about you, but I can be VERY good at filling up my calendar. Case in point: I’m heading home to NYC for three weeks & it is so me… meeting friends, meeting family, business meetings, personal meetings, booking it all back to back until there’s zero space left for a single surprise.

I’m always planning something.

So maybe September is a little reminder to do less of that.

To leave some space. To notice what gives us energy, what makes us feel alive, and what we might have been too busy to hear.

Not everything needs to be figured out (or scheduled) right now.

Maybe slowing down can do us some good after all 🤍

There are so many things I wish I knew when I was younger.

I thought success meant pushing harder, moving faster, and becoming the version of myself I believed I was supposed to be. After 18 years in finance and a few very different chapters, I learned that real growth wasn’t only about achievement. It was also about knowing when to slow down, trusting myself, and having the courage to change direction when something no longer felt right.

Swipe for the ones I’d go back and tell her.

I left corporate to find my own way. You don’t have to.

Now I help you step into their next-level identity, whether that means thriving where you already are, making a shift, or building something entirely new.

DM if this resonates and let’s chat 🤍 by @doris.ay
