Today, I’m sharing Alchemy of Being with the world.

This body of work comes from the past couple of years of my life, a time of going inward, questioning patterns, and sitting with things I didn’t always fully understand, slowly learning how to stay present with it all.

Music became a way for me to say what I couldn’t in words, a non-verbal expression through instruments, allowing emotions to surface and integrate without needing to be explained, resolved, or even named, and I feel grateful to have shaped parts of it alongside my good friend @rejoicer1

I’ve been thinking about how much we carry, and how rarely we give ourselves the time to actually meet it, and this feels like my way of shaping a space for that, something you can return to when things feel heavy or unclear, or even when things feel open and you want to stay with it a little longer, if it meets you somewhere along the way, even quietly, that means everything to me.

It feels right to share this through @multicultifamily , a label that has been an inspiration to me for years, a place that holds its own sense of openness and exploration, and to let the music find its way from there, wherever it’s meant to land.

May we meet ourselves with kindness,
and let peace take shape around us,
for the benefit of all sentient beings.

With love

Beacon of Light takes over Better Tomorrow Studio on November 21 for its biggest activation yet.

From 10pm to 6am, the space will become a late night chill out room inspired by the spaces that once existed alongside the main rooms of raves and clubs. Places where the music could stretch out, DJs could follow unexpected ideas, and people could sit, lie down, sway, dance, talk, listen and stay for a while.

For this one, the lineup feels especially connected to that spirit.

@space.time.continuum , the artist behind Spacetime Continuum, joins for a DJ set. Jonah was there when chill out culture was first taking shape, from the original Spacetime parties in early 90s London to decades spent exploring the outer edges of electronic music in San Francisco. His work has always moved freely between the dance floor and the spaces around it.

@lovefingers has built a musical world around curiosity, discovery and deep digging. From lovefingers.org to @esp_institute , his approach has always been less about fitting into a particular sound and more about finding unexpected records and unlikely connections.

@thomfelixthedog has been part of San Francisco’s underground since the 90s, including the Black Diamond and Eklektic parties, with a history rooted in rooms where different sounds, scenes and people could all coexist.

Resident Chillers @tottie_lottiee and @dorwand will be holding down the Beacon of Light side.

@bettertomorrowstudio will be covered in rugs, with room to stretch out, move around and settle in, plus a full light activation by @b_c_z and @laserguise that will evolve through the night.

This is the biggest Beacon of Light night so far, and the closest the project has come to giving the chill out room an entire night of its own.

Come early, stay late, lie down for a while, get back up and dance, hear something unexpected and see where the night goes.

Tickets are available now on Resident Advisor.

Capacity is limited, so getting yours early is a good move.

Follow @beaconxlight as it all comes together. by @dorwand

Hey world,

Exciting new month ahead as I keep working on another album to eventually share with the world.

I’ve also been thinking a lot about how vital music and dance music culture are to my life. Since I was a teenager, they’ve been one of the few things that have stayed constant through all the different versions of me. Most of my closest friendships, communities and connections around the world can somehow be traced back to music.

Maybe that’s part of why I’m so excited to come back to San Francisco this month for a little mini tour.

I’ll be playing a hybrid @beaconxlight session at @thebatterysf , spending an afternoon playing downtempo vibers at @vinyldreamssf , easily one of my favorite places in SF and one of my favorite record stores anywhere, and closing things out on Sunday morning at @hedgecoffee with some uplifting chillers from my record collection.

In a funny way, this trip almost feels like my first time coming back to SF as the person I am now. I’m really looking forward to being there, reconnecting with the city and seeing so many familiar faces.

Before all of that, I’m back on @dublab today from 4 to 6pm for another Open Heart Social Club, digging into some recent promos, purchases and discoveries alongside a handful of old favorites.

With love,

Hey world,

I’m back on the web to share a few goodies and pearls with you all.

I’ve been trying to spend less time wondering where I’m wanted and more time choosing where I want to be. Putting energy into people I love, projects I believe in and the things I actually feel passionate about.

Some days that means making music. Some days it means experimenting with incense. Some days it just means getting out of my own way and doing the thing I’ve been avoiding.

Today I’m taking over the @dublab airwaves from 4–6pm for another Open Heart Social Club, sharing some sounds from the various rabbit holes I’ve been diving into.

It also happens to be Bandcamp Friday, and Lifted, my new track on @multicultifamily , is out now. It’s part of this ongoing process of figuring out my setup, following accidents, and seeing where the music wants to go.

There’s also a tiny batch of incense made in collaboration with the lovely people at @_agaric_fly to accompany the release. If you’ve been around parties in LA and noticed me wandering around lighting incense, there’s a good chance this is what you’ve been smelling.

Big love as well to @brandnewplastic for helping me give all of this a visual language, from the artwork for the shows to the incense holder and some other things still cooking.

More music, more smells, more experiments coming soon.

Tune in and keep me company for a couple of hours.

We got this

Life has felt a little strange lately, and I’ve been finding myself returning to music as a place to slow down and reconnect.

This Friday I’ll be bringing my live set to the Skirball Cultural Center as part of A Palace in Time, the exhibition by @robertrussellworks and @lisaedelstein exploring memory, ritual, joy, loss, and the moments that make up a life.

I’ll be playing in a cute shaded courtyard so you can all stay cool, sharing music from Alchemy of Being and continuing to explore this live practice that has slowly been taking shape over the past few months.

It feels particularly meaningful to bring this music into a space thinking about time, memory, and the rituals that hold us.

Hey lovers! It’s been a hot summer and a little while since I last shared my journey with the world.

As I move towards embracing my artistry and leaning deeper into my creativity, I can’t help but see how much life has been preparing me for this moment.

Between working on new music and focusing on launching my incense company, there hasn’t been a dull moment. And while I can’t say it’s been an easy journey, learning to move through my fears, insecurities and resistance has been a rewarding part of the process. I’m slowly learning that sometimes the things standing in our way are also showing us where there’s room to grow.

I’m really excited to be back home at @dublab today for another Open Heart Social Club from 4 to 6pm PDT, sharing some of the music that has soundtracked this past month, kept me inspired and accompanied me through all of these changes.

There’s a lot taking shape right now and I’m excited to share more as it unfolds.

Wishing us all a blissful weekend, and a little courage to keep following whatever is calling us.

Yours truly,
Dor 🕊️ taken in dublab by @dorwand

A little glow from the Alchemy of Being release gathering at @dublab

A few scenes from the day we transformed the space into a Beacon of Light chill-out room. Cushions on the floor, coconut water, records moving through hands, friends arriving, music drifting, and the room slowly finding its own rhythm.

Alchemy of Being is Dor Wand’s new album, but this gathering felt like the opening of a wider world around it. A space for listening, connecting, and letting the music live in the room with everyone there.

Sending love to dublab for opening their space to us as part of their May membership drive, and for continuing to hold such an important home for independent radio, artists, and community in Los Angeles.

The recordings from the day are now live on SoundCloud, featuring sets from @tottie_lottiee , @sebwildblood , and @dorwand live set.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, listened, bought the record, and for being part of this first chapter.

More from Beacon of Light soon.

Groovewell Vacation was really special.

I left feeling so seen, loved, and deeply reminded to trust the process. To keep daring to follow the quiet call, even when the path is unclear. To show up as I am, with all the softness, all the questions, all the devotion, and let the work reveal itself through the people it touches.

Sharing the sunrise sessions and feeling how they landed has become a huge driving force in my journey right now. It reminded me that when something comes from an honest place, it finds its way.

I also loved catching @natural.orbit play at the Voyager Lounge. It felt beautiful to see other people answering their own calling in a space that feels so connected to what I’ve been exploring through sound, listening, and shared presence. So I asked them to step in as guest hosts for today’s Open Heart Social Club while I slip out of the city for the holiday.

Big love and gratitude to the entire @groovewellvacation crew for the care, curation, and beautiful work that went into holding the festival.

Tune in today, 4–6pm on @dublab

Lovers gonna love.
