Every one of these rules impacts the other, and if you’re honest with yourself you will come to realize that most instances are not yours to address - particularly on social media.

If you want to convert people, if you want to change the world, start with your personal circle, and those around you.

Consider the attention you spend online trying to change others, are you stealing attention away from those closest to you to waste on those who weren’t willing to hear in the first place?

Finally, if you take nothing else away from this, take the prayer and fasting. “Let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.” James 1:19

Remember you will be called to answer for every flippant word you speak. If you truly want to win souls, and keep yourself out of trouble in the process, you must pray and fast for these conversations. “Lord, if you want me to speak, make it clear and give me the words. Not my will but yours be done.” by @dothe_harderthing

Did you know Halloween is actually part of a Catholic triduum?

What we now call Halloween was once All Hallows’ Eve—the vigil before the feasts of All Saints and All Souls.

As Fulton Sheen famously emphasized, the Catholic worldview is to fast before the feast. The secular world does the opposite: feast first, then the hangover.

Halloween was traditionally a time of preparation and fasting before the great feasts of All Saints and All Souls. It was never meant to be a celebration of evil.

So how did we get from All Hallows’ Eve to the Halloween we know today?

And what does the Church actually have to say about the season?

Join us TOMORROW, October 5, for our FREE webinar, Exorcising Halloween, with Jordan Burke and Charles D. Fraune.

Jordan Burke serves the Avila Institute in digital media and co-hosts The Devil Is in the Details, exploring spiritual warfare and discernment.

Charles D. Fraune is the founder of the Slaying Dragons Apostolate and Press, holds an M.A. in Theology from Christendom College Graduate School, and is the author of Exorcising Halloween and several books on spiritual warfare and the occult.

Tomorrow at 6pm central.

Comment HALLOWEEN and we’ll send you the registration link. 🎃

Learn the real Catholic history of Halloween—and how Catholics can reclaim this holy season.

Is “AI art” sinful? I think there’s a strong argument that it is. To all my artist friends, please let me know what you think. If you agree, please share because this problem is growing at a rapid pace.

Who is Our Lady of Sorrows? Comment SORROWS and I'll send you her full litany.

Most Catholics have never heard of her. And if you have, you're probably not eager to get to know her better — who wants more sorrow in their life?

But that's not what this feast is asking of you.

In the 13th century, the Servite Order began a devotion to Mary's Seven Sorrows — from Simeon's prophecy that "a sword will pierce your own soul" (Luke 2:35) to receiving her Son's body at the foot of the cross. Pope Pius VII extended the feast to the whole Church in 1814. In 1913, Pope Pius X fixed it on September 15th — the day after the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, so Mother and Cross would always be remembered together.

Mary isn't sorrow for its own sake. She's the mother who stood beneath the cross and didn't run. She doesn't ask you to feel more grief — she shows you how to carry the grief you already have without losing hope.

Happy feast day, Our Lady of Sorrows — Cause of our Joy.

Comment SORROWS for the full litany, and pray along with the Seven Sorrows Chaplet — video now live on our YouTube channel, link in bio.
