🌱 LANGUAGE BLOOMS IN NATURE! 🌱

Want your kids to spend time outdoors, learn how to grow plants, contribute to reforesting our ecosystem, do scientific experiments and learn new vocabulary? Go volunteer with @urbanparadiseguild!

As a speech-language pathologist, I’m always excited about free activities that naturally boost language development. These experiences provide authentic contexts for learning specialized vocabulary (germination, seedling, habitat) while encouraging descriptive language and scientific conversations.

Had such a nice time planting native species at Arch Creek Park today! Thank you @photowalk.305 and @paopaokat for inviting us - what a wonderful day connecting with nature and expanding our linguistic horizons! And thank you to our @urbanparadiseguild guide Sam and Jackie and the whole team 🌿

Here are 3 new words I learned:
-Girdling (the complete or partial removal of the bark from around a tree’s trunk or branch. This process disrupts the flow of nutrients, ultimately leading to the death of the affected area or the entire tree if the main trunk is girdled)
-Seaside Oxeye Daisy
-Australian pines (not native from Florida and they are everywhere)
