Thoughts during my 10 mile cycle before another busy day of working on my research projects:

In a career path where so many things demand perfection, whether its calculating drug doses, delivering life changing diagnoses, analyzing groundbreaking research data, sometimes I have a hard time shutting off that mindset of perfection. Running and working out are my HOBBIES, I ENJOY them, and a lifeline in an exceedingly demanding career and educational path.

Im soon to be in the heart of marathon training, and not where I hoped to be before starting thanks to a hard fall during a trail race three weeks ago today. But, running a marathon has been a lifelong dream of mine, regardless of my pace. And for that reason, I am still so excited to start this journey.

It is important to celebrate and enjoy each workout, and not get too caught up on pace, PRs, etc.🫶 #vetmed #veterinarian #research #phd #vetschool by @doubledoggydoc

$Really hoping to start marathon training in a few weeks, but still waiting to hear back from my ortho doctor (this was a radiology report only). However, thank goodness no fractures! This is my first running related injury which has been super frustrating; running is my favorite way to decompress and move my body after a busy day doing research or working with animals and it has been a very strange two weeks off of not having that outlet. Trying to stay positive and not overextend myself so that I can heal completely and thoroughly.
