Hey there! Lots of new faces so I thought it was time for an introduction.

I’m Jennifer, an empty nester married for 25+ years. My hubby doesn’t pop up on here much, but he’s the one behind building all my crazy ideas. We’ve recently moved to a cooler elevation in Arizona, where we have a small flock of chickens (more to come!) and a very spoiled lab named Tater. I spend most of my time in my garden and love preserving food—canning is my jam! 😊You’ll find me sharing recipes, all the sourdough things, and all of our upcoming projects. Thanks for being here and hanging out with me!

Planting organic potatoes in grow bags in Az 9a.

🥔 Potatoes are easy to grow and don’t require a lot of maintenance. They need to have moist soil and will take 2-3 months to harvest

🔥 Fire Cider Season is here! 🔥
Cold and flu season is here, and I only have a couple pints left! Fire cider is made with immune-supporting ingredients and is traditionally used to support digestion and warm you up when you’re feeling under the weather. Also good for sinus and congestion relief.
$20 a pint • Local pickup only
Message me to claim yours! 🌶️🍎🧄

After being gone the last 8 days, I had a nice harvest today. Garden cleanup will start this weekend. I need to clean out spent plants and get in cabbage, broccoli and brussel sprouts transplanted for fall/winter garden.

There’s just something about filling the pantry with food you put up yourself.
Today I’m canning fresh green beans so we can enjoy them long after garden season is over. I love knowing exactly what went into the jar and having homemade food ready to grab from the pantry,
Canning is one of my favorite ways to preserve the harvest and save money along the way.

It’s been a few months since I shared one of these. Think I’m still bitter after losing all my photos on Facebook.
We got a lot of much needed rain in August, squeezed in a couple camping trips, saw some long time friends and of course harvested a shit ton!

I keep thinking my peppers are going to slow down! I got all my corn prepped for the freezer and roasted another round of peppers to put in the freezer too. I don’t think I’ll need peppers until year! by @doubleh.acres
