A well-trained dog is a fulfilled dog.

A fulfilled dog thrives in every aspect of life, whether that’s their leash manners, off-leash recall, ability to settle, social-ability, and more.

There are four things your dog needs to be fulfilled:
1. Consistent Adventure 🏔️
2. Training & Mental Stimulation 🌿
3. Breed Specific Enrichment 🐾
4. Building a Trusting Relationship ♥️

We support you with all four. Think of us as your support system to help our dog live an enriching life in harmony with you.

Between our adventure pack walks, training programs, puppy prep sessions, canine nutrition consults, and more, we build a long-term, individual relationship with you and your dog to champion and assist you through every moment.

Canine friendships like this are SO crucial for your dog to be properly socialized, but not in the way you might think…

Socialization doesn’t mean letting your dog to play with every single dog and bringing them to the dog park daily so that they have a million “friends.” These types of social interactions create overly-friendly and pushy dogs, which often creates reactive dogs too.

Instead, socialization means allowing your dog to create mutual bonds with a select number of well-mannered and well-trained dogs who you know and trust. I would so much rather my dog have one or two close, mutual friends rather than roughhouse and romp with every dog they meet.

Arthur & Billie are a perfect example of this - they co-exist in a neutral way, but then can chase and roughhouse like no other, but they listen to each other’s body language and can return to neutral in a split second. They give each other confidence, fulfillment, and teach each other great habits (like recall, neutrality, etc.).

So take this as a reminder, your dog doesn’t need more friends, they need more close and trusting canine connections!

Happy Birthday Reggie! 🎉

Somehow this monkey is three today, and I keep asking myself where the time has gone?! Reginald has been such a constant in our packs for the past three years, and I couldn’t imagine our adventures without him.

He is the goofiest, cuddliest dog I’ve ever met, who I swear thinks he is human. He certainly never fails to make us laugh. Here’s to many more adventures with him!

Raw feeding tip of the day: when buying tripe, it’s super important to buy GREEN tripe rather than bleached tripe!

Bleached tripe is often is stripped of the benefical digestive enzymes, good bacteria and nutrional value that makes tripe so beneficial, so make sure you are searching for green tripe when adding it to your dog’s bowl 🐄🐑

Yesterday was Xhiggy’s 12th birthday, so of course we had to celebrate by doing all of his favourite things!
🎉

A forest hike, new toys to shred within the day, a birthday cake from @3dogvancouver (which was a huge hit), and lots of love from his family.

This guy just keeps proving to me that he is up to the task at twelve years old - he keeps up with my young-ins on our adventures and proves to everyone that he wants to keep working.

Happy Birthday Xhig!

As a professional dog trainer, I so often see owners try to avoid all stressful situations for their dog, and it is SUCH a damaging mentality for your puppy.

Now, I’m not telling you to put your 8-week puppy in a super stressful and overwhelming environment. I’m saying that small amounts of stress are beneficial for your puppy to allow them to problem solve and work through stressful moments.

Take Tucker in this video for example: he was so scared to climb things when I met him and would often get stuck (even though he could physically do the task). Instead of codling him and carrying him down, I would let him figure it out with huge amounts of encouragement and praise every time. Now on our adventures, he can clear every physical task without issue and without stress.

Stress is inevitable. You are not always going to be able to make your dog’s entire life “stress-free”. It’s important to give them the skills to deal with that stress as puppies, rather than when your dog has crippling anxiety at two or three :)

Our pack’s weekly recap! 🐾☀️

Sunshine and lovely temperatures brought us to the beach and was perfect for some extra long hikes in the forest this week. Lots of time in the water was certainly welcomed by the dogs!

Swipe to see the sweetest friendship grow ➡️

I first met Billie at 9 weeks old after her family completed my puppy prep program, and the connection between her and Arthur was instant.

He has been the most perfect teacher throughout her training and adventures, demonstrating everything from how to be a neutral dog to perfect recall to dock diving.

Better yet, Billie has brought out the goofiest side of him, and these two are total hams together, but then can dial everything right back in to be hyper-engaged with me at the snap of my fingers.

Billie is only 9 months old, and Arthur is 2, so having this level of reliability for two young dogs is something I am incredibly proud of (with a huge kudos to Billie’s family to being so on top of our training).

Many more years of adventuring are to come with these two ♥️
