“What cost?” 2024 - 5.5 x 8.5 in.
This is the second relief print I created during my residency with Small Works (@smallworksdetroit) I wanted to carve a phrase into wood that I continually found myself whispering in anguish as an aside but also have exclaimed with clenched fists in frustration as punctuation in fervent conversation.

I created a fun challenge for my second go at a woodcut and for sure learned a hard lesson when I sliced through the base of my thumb. It’s all good, I healed fine, it was worth it in the end I guess.
Also notice the cool gradient, that was fun. I’ll share photos of the process one day.
In the meantime, this is an edition of 30 - they are available in my shop right now.

“Overgrown” 2024 - 7.5 x 8.25 in.
At the end of last year, I had the pleasure of being an artist in residence at Small Works (@smallworksdetroit) During which time, my focus was on relief printing (woodcut) and getting acquainted with the Challenge 15MP Proofing Press.

This print is from my first woodcut carving on handmade paper. (Cool)
Followed by some in-progress film photos. (Tight)

The first, me super focused with the wood carving tool in hand.
The second, my moody looking work station. With a quarter of the block carved, a pair of glasses and carving implements strewn around the block.

There are only 10 available and they are in my shop now.

Back in June, I created a travel information hotline for my solo exhibition INTERMEDIUM.

Viewers who opted to dial the number posted on the wall (313)241-4005 were greeted with an audio companion for the exhibition they were wandering through @umstamps

Paper Street is proud and delighted to present Hae Zae!!! By 12:41.

12:41’s “Hae Zae!!!” is a collection of fun musings by a silly lady; wallowing about fun, silly things. This zine features expressive sketches and poetic reflections, centering around 12:41's journey of self-discovery and healing.

“Hae Zae!!!” will be available at @room_project_’s Fellows Reading on Monday, November 13th @ 7 pm, celebrating the final cohort of Fellows.
Starting Tuesday, the 14th, the zine will be available for purchase online.

Doing a zine library pop-up @midnightcarecollective’s Handle With Care: a three-part experimental series of community activations centered around the intuitive resilience of Detroiters and communal Care's role in our collective resistance.

Through the lenses of Abolition, Transformative Justice, and Community Care, the series provides an accessible platform for participants to delve into fundamental human needs that shape our survival and the collective practices we hold to persist in our freedom struggles. Handle with Care will encourage Detroiters to rediscover and nurture their internal compass for accessing joy, mutual perseverance, and dreaming within the carceral landscape by making space for the knowledge within. This event series is the fruit of a long year of research through (@sabetyeee) saylem m. Celeste's residency at the @detroitjusticecenter and the pilot project of the resulting Transformative Justice/Black Feminist group, Midnight Care Collective.

Dragon in Chains is a multimedia interpretation of self portraiture through the exploration of interior and intimate spaces by artist, AM Scout. The Artist extends the Self beyond her physical body; as bedroom landscapes, as girly dollar store paraphernalia, and through nostalgic flashes of memory captured through film. Within each of these spaces and selves, she prods at the tension between vulnerability and voyeurism that is created by inviting a viewer in.
