We are all born with a body — but no one ever gave us the owner’s manual.

There’s so much confusion around how to properly care for and operate these vessels we inhabit. Most of us were never taught the basics, let alone the nuances.

Lifestyle Alchemy is the process of harmonizing your body with its own internal rhythms and the rhythms of nature — through many small tips and tricks we were never taught + practices like grounding, strategic sun exposure, primal movement, breathwork, ancestral eating, and so much more.

This is what I help people learn to do. If you’re ready to stop guessing and start actually thriving in your body, DM or visit my website, link in my bio by @dr.evanwrightalignment

In all of my training as a naturopathic doctor, Craniosacral Therapy (CST) has been one of the most powerful (yet subtle) techniques I’ve learned. It is both a way to see what is going on inside a persons body and nervous system, and a profound method for guiding someone’s natural self healing capacities.

CST is a technique in which the practitioner “listens” to a patient’s “craniosacral rhythm” in order to locate areas of stagnation and disharmony in the body. This unique rhythm is essentially the flow of cerebrospinal fluid throughout the brain, spinal cord, and surrounding structures. Practitioners of craniosacral are trained to discern and follow this rhythm.

What started as me learning this technique and learning to discern this mysterious rhythm - turned into me discovering my own unique style of body work, incorporating many other techniques and intuitive practices I’ve picked up along the way.

What’s the point of ALIGNMENT?

When I speak about alignment, what I’m really talking about is coherence through the nervous system - from the brain to the body.

In our fast paced, stressful, and often toxic environments, the nervous system can become easily dis regulated. Changes occur both in the physical body as well as the mind, leading to confusion in the nervous system. Essentially the brain becomes less efficient and has more trouble communicating with the body.

This chaos in the system makes life much more difficult. The good news is that by addressing this chaos, we can begin to bring more ease and flow into our lives. It is easier to realize our passions, achieve our ambitions, and connect with our deeper purpose on this planet.

Alignment in mind and body leads to alignment with the soul.

My dream is to help people come into deeper alignment within themselves so they can give their deepest gifts back to the planet. by @dr.evanwrightalignment

Root Cause Medicine means doing the work to uncover what is actually creating the state of Dis-Ease in the body.

This differs greatly from modern medicine which often involves SUPPRESSING SYMPTOMS.

For example, in Hypertension (high blood pressure) if a major genetic disorder or medication side effect is ruled out - western medicine calls this ESSENTIAL HYPERTENSION - meaning the cause is unknown (or too complicated to address)

So instead of digging deeper to understand the ROOT, medication is given to SUPPRESS the symptoms of high blood pressure (to be fair, high blood pressure over time unchecked can lead to heart attacks, stroke, heart failure etc.)

In root cause medicine, while medication may still be utilized as necessary, work is done to uncover what is actually leading to the high blood pressure (toxin overload, blood sugar disregulation, endothelial inflammation, etc.)

When this is addressed, the doctor is working WITH the body to help it do what it was trying to do in the first place, rather than suppressing its natural intelligence. by @dr.evanwrightalignment

When things get overwhelming, this is the only thing that never fails me.

Sometimes all I can do is get out of the house and start walking. Slowly, at my own pace, feeling the sensation of my steps, being in nature — always barefoot.

My mind begins to unravel itself. The swirl of thoughts and stimulation starts to untangle and slow down. I gain separation between the experience I’m having — thoughts, emotions, feelings — and the part of me observing.

When I get lost in my thoughts, I simply bring my mind back to my steps.

By the time my walk is over — medicine received, mind clear.

For me working with herbs is less about ingesting their compounds, and more like working with an intelligent, conscious being.

When we think of the benefits of herbs and plants, we most often think of the physical effects — the phytochemicals and the scientifically researched, reproducible effects these compounds have on the body.

I believe there is more to plants than their isolated compounds.

Holy Basil is an adaptogen — meaning over time it helps us respond better to stress. But the way this actually works in the body illustrates how the medicine of herbs involves a certain intelligence that goes beyond the static effects of compounds.

Holy Basil helps us respond to stress by intelligently modulating our stress response — meaning it doesn’t just “lower stress.” It helps intelligently modify how your body responds to it, based on the actual needs in the moment.

I notice this in how the herb makes me feel more energized when I’m tired, but more relaxed when I’m nervous or overstimulated.

It also modulates inflammation — not “lowers” it. Sometimes you need inflammation, and sometimes it goes overboard. Inflammation-modulating herbs work with the body’s inflammatory pathways, making them more intelligent and responsive to your real needs.

This intelligence extends beyond the physical. Working with Tulsi daily — intentionally, relationally — can shift complex patterns in your life that have nothing to do with cortisol.

Have you worked with Tulsi or any plant in this way? I’d love to hear your experience below 🌱 by @dr.evanwrightalignment

Seasonal Eating 🌞🌱🧺

This is how I decide what to eat!

Step 1. Go to my local farmers market
Step 2. Obtain local seasonal produce
Step 3. For each meal, I pick a protein and some veggies
*** I get my protein delivered from wild pastures, which sources from regenerative farms for an amazing price

Step 4. Figure out how to make it taste good 😄

Local produce is packed with way more nutrients than what’s in your grocery store (produce loses 30% of nutrients by just a few days after harvest).

Seasonal fruits and veggies bio harmonize with our bodies making mitochondrial energy transfer significantly more efficient (more on this in future posts)

PLUS supporting local farmers is one of the best things you can do for the environment.

My favorite tool for meeting myself - quiet / alone time in nature
It hasn’t been easy, but was a vital part of getting to know myself better, deepening into my own relationship with myself.

Through this period of partial isolation, I’ve come to an important realization.

I have a choice, every moment.

How do I want to show up?

For myself, for the relationships in my life. For my commitments and responsibilities.

It’s always been a choice. Through understanding myself deeper, I know better what I want to do with this choice.

How will you show up?

Movement is Medicine 🌞

Amongst all the confusion in the modern fitness world, I like to keep it simple.

My favorite way to train is outside (barefoot) in the sun. I pick a few movements or skills to work on, warm up and I’m ready to go 🌀

Having a fitness plan is great, but consistently moving your body is ESSENTIAL. Even if it’s just some wigglin around in the sun 🕺 by @dr.evanwrightalignment
