Medical Marriages has its perks. We problem solve as though we are at work. My husband who is a pulmonary/critical care and sleep specialist, take deep breaths and I ask questions like a good internist/hospitalist does! One thing for sure is that we always come to a resolution.

✨ Celebrating a Decade of Dedication and Growth ✨

I am celebrating 10 of being an Attending Physician and 10 incredible years as a physician at Yale. This journey has been a testament to the power of faith, hard work, and the unyielding belief in the possibility of better tomorrows. As I reflect on the past decade, I’m filled with deep gratitude for every lesson learned, every patient cared for, and every challenge that helped shape me into the person and professional I am today.

To anyone out there striving toward your dreams, remember this: your journey may not always be smooth, but every step, every stumble, and every victory is worth it. Believe in yourself even when the road ahead seems uncertain. Celebrate your achievements, no matter how small they may seem. And most importantly, never forget to thank God for the blessings, guidance, and strength that carry you through.

Life is a precious gift, and each day is an opportunity to grow, serve, and make a difference. I’m excited for what the future holds and remain committed to the values and mission that have guided me through these past 10 years. Here’s to continuing this journey with faith, hope, and a heart full of gratitude.

I figure I jump in the 1980s trends especially since I was born in that era!
What I would tell my 1980s self…

Little girl, you have no idea what God has in store for you. ❤️

You will dream dreams that sometimes feel too big for you. Dream them anyway.

You will encounter closed doors, disappointments, self-doubt, and seasons when the journey doesn’t make sense. Keep going anyway.

One day, you’ll look back and realize that every chapter was preparing you for the next.

You’ll become a nurse.
Then a doctor. 👩🏾‍⚕️
You’ll become a servant of God, wife, and a mother.
You’ll lead, teach, speak, serve, and pour into others.

But the greatest lesson I would tell you is this:

Your accomplishments will never be the greatest thing about you. Who you become in your walk with Christ along the way will matter even more.

Stay close to God.
Give yourself grace.
Don’t be afraid to start over.
Don’t shrink yourself to make other people comfortable.
And never allow a difficult season to convince you that God has forgotten you.

The road won’t always be easy, little girl…

but you’re going to have one beautiful life. Signed, my future self #1980s #godsplan #education #goals by @dr.evemd

My first Think Pink was in 2023. I took a flight and landed in a room with 6 strangers. I came alone but left with sisters. I did not know a single soul on the land…but like Hannah I needed a place called Shiloh! Shiloh became the place where Hannah’s pain was poured out, her faith was strengthened, and her prayer eventually became a testimony.

Fast forward to 2026, my faith and prayer life has deepened! I have built Godly friendships.. Friends I look forward to seeing every year. My heart is full. I am short of words but will try….Think Pink conference 2026 was nothing short of AMAZING! The atmosphere, the fellowship, praise & worship, powerful and relevant messages by God’s chosen vessels, unrelenting prayers, and the beautiful gathering of women from all walks of life pursuing God while looking cutesy has truly been a blessing.

I am truly grateful to the convener and vision bearer of such a holistic movement/encounter, Prophetess Lesley @lesley.osei. Prophetess, you are a woman of honor, filled with the spirit of excellence, admirable fear of the Lord, integrity, wisdom, and grace! I am leaving inspired, refreshed, and grateful for every message, ministration, prophecy, revelation, connection, and every moment.

I am grateful to God for using Prophetess as a vessel that would give me the opportunity to speak at the @thinkpinkconference and @teenpinkconference. Thank you for entrusting me with your platform and allowing me to share the knowledge God has placed within me.

Thank you for curating such a beautiful space and inviting (TP 2023) women to occupy (TP 2024), behold with unveiled faces (TP 2026), become more like Christ, and be transformed into the highest degree of glory!
I love you wide and big, Prophetess! May God restore every virtue lost during this fulfilling week. See you all at TP@10 in 2027! 🔥🌹❤️❤️ #thinkpinkcon2026 #unveiled #jesus #womenempowerment #health by @dr.evemd

Dr. Evelyn Adekolu facilitated a powerful and informative health session on diet and weight management!

The Think Pink conference is not only a conference focused on the spiritual improvement of women but the physical, mental, and emotional health of all women!

We thank God for spaces such as this!

Today is my husband’s birthday, and I cannot keep calm! It’s been over 16 yrs of knowing this gentle man. 14 years in matrimony…and forever to go by God’s grace.

The Lord has blessed me with an anointed man of God, a loving husband, a selfless father, a compassionate 5-star doctor, a faithful prayer partner, a gifted Bible teacher, and a blessing to our family, church, community, and generation.

My darling husband, thank you for being all that you are to me, our boys, and the countless lives you touch each day. On this special day, I pray that the Lord remembers you for good, preserves your life, strengthens your hands, and causes every prophetic word and promise concerning you to come to pass.

May this new year usher you into greater favor, deeper grace, and higher heights. May God exceed your expectations and do immeasurably more than you could ever ask or imagine. As Scripture declares, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

We are forever grateful for the gift that you are. I love you more than words could ever express.

Happy Birthday, my love, my bestie. May your best days yet be ahead of you! ❤️🎉🎂 by @dr.evemd

Learn to laugh with your spouse! We were friends before we were married. One of the secrets to marriage is being friends even AFTER the marriage, not soley husband and wife but friends. Grateful for my bestie and gift from God! ❤️❤️ #marriage #healthymarriage #godlymarriage #laugh #husband by @dr.evemd

IWhy a medication list is important!

* Prevents dangerous medication interactions
* Reduces medical errors
* Helps during emergencies when you cannot speak for yourself
* Keeps all your doctors on the same page
* Helps caregivers and family members assist you safely
* Important for surgeries, hospitalizations, and travel
Send to your family and friends that you know are on medications! This is one reason for medical errors that could be avoided! #staysafe #healthytips #healtylifestyle #medication #healthcare by @dr.evemd

My last name is Nigerian in origin! I have had issues with people intermittently skipping my last name since I was a child! Learning to pronounce someone’s last name correctly is a simple act of respect, dignity, and kindness. It says:
“I see you.”
“You belong here.”
“Your identity matters.”

For many of us, our last names carry generations of history, culture, sacrifice, and legacy. Don’t be afraid to gently correct people. And don’t be afraid to ask someone how to say their name correctly.

A name is not “too hard” when a person is important enough to learn. What is your experience with this? Is your name hard to pronounce? What has been your experience? If you have been struggling with pronunciation of unfamiliar last names, how do you handle it? #inclusion #respect #nigeria #legacy #tryingsomethingnew by @dr.evemd

When I look around at how beautiful the earth looks, I am in awe of God’s creations. He is so intentional and so perfect. The mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.”

Many of you may not know but I transitioned my career from nursing to doctor many years ago. I am a better physician because I was a nurse first. It took God’s grace, GRIT, and GRIND. But here we are! I was invited to be part of an esteemed panelist and will share my story today. I work with the best team at Yale New Haven. Success isn’t always loud!
Sometimes success is simply showing up… consistently, faithfully, and wholeheartedly.

Showing up when you’re tired.
Showing up when no one applauds you.
Showing up when the results are slow.
Showing up when doubt whispers louder than confidence.

Every time you show up, you build resilience, discipline, character, and purpose.
The small, unseen moments often create the greatest success stories.

Keep showing up.
Your consistency will speak before your accomplishments ever do. ✨
