Some athletes train to compete.

Others train to endure.

We have the privilege of working with athletes at every level. From weekend warriors and hybrid athletes to professionals in the NFL and MLB. But there’s something different about the ultrarunning community. The discipline, sacrifice, and relentless preparation it takes to line up for Badwater 135 is on another level.

We’re honored that our athlete, @nick_cerbone, trusts Endro to help prepare his body for one of the toughest endurance events on earth. Death Valley will test everything, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned about Nick, it’s that he never stops moving forward.

The entire community is behind you and your pace crew. We’re praying for your safety, your strength, and for God to guide every step until you cross that finish line.

“Suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.” — Romans 5:3–4

Endro was built on the idea of endurance because we believe the human body was designed to endure and is more capable than what healthcare today makes it out to be.

Nick, you’re the embodiment of that belief.

Godspeed, brother ❤️‍🔥 by @dr.hatjopoulos

Cut the BS. Do these before your run and thank me later.

Instead of doing nothing or spending 10 minutes doing pointless stretches, run through these 4 quick stability drills.

1. GLUTE MEDIUS: keeps your pelvis stable and helps control your knee.
2. BANDED ANKLE EVERSION: helps keep your ankle stable when you load and push off.
3. SOLEUS: helps control your shin and absorb force with every step.
4. TIBIALIS POSTERIOR: supports your arch and helps control your foot.

You have no excuse, all you need is a band and a tennis ball. Takes a few minutes. Your legs will probably appreciate it more than another hamstring stretch.

Save this and do these before your next run. Then come back and tell me how your legs feel.

Shoulder pain on push day is one of the most common things I see come through the door.

I’ve been through it myself. I tried icing it, stretching it, all the mobility work — but none of it gave me the fix I was looking for.

It wasn’t until I realized I wasn’t tight or restricted… I was simply weak. I constantly had to keep my shoulder blade pinched while doing chest just to feel stable.

I never did one thing to cause an injury — but lifting on an unstable shoulder long enough was the final straw. That’s when it clicked: sometimes weakness shows up as pain, not injury.

These 3 exercises kickstarted my shoulder rehab:
• Foam roller rollouts — serratus
• Incline bench Y-raises — lower trap
• Banded external rotation — posterior cuff

Control first, then load.

Save this for your next push day. Shoot me a dm if you deal with this personally.

Patellar tendinitis isn’t only a jumper’s injury, runners can develop it too.

Every stride loads the knee, especially when mileage, pace, hills, or intensity increase faster than the patellar tendon can adapt. This is what can cause pain around the bottom of the kneecap.

The goal isn’t simply to stop running. The goal is to gradually load the tendon to help rebuild capacity. If someone tells you to rest it, they aren’t your friend.

Here’s some exercises that I like to do:

•Wall sit: Hold for 45-60 seconds for 3-4 sets. Keep discomfort mild and controlled (4/10 pain). Progress by adding time or moving deeper.

•Sissy squat iso + yoga block squeeze: Hold for 30-45 seconds for 3 sets. Use a shallow range or support as needed. Progress by increasing hold time or lowering slightly.

•Heel-elevated single-leg Spanish squat iso: Hold for 30-45 seconds for 2-3 sets. Progress by increasing hold time, depth, or reducing support.

•Tempo goblet squat: 2-3 sets of 6-10 reps, lowering over 3-4 seconds. Start with a light weight and comfortable depth.

Progress by adding reps, then load.
Mild discomfort is okay to work through, but it should remain manageable. If you experience sharp pain or a flare up, reduce the range, time, or load to be able to work through it.

Control the load, progress gradually, and address what may be irritating the tendon.

A lot of people get concerned when they get this pain, but we fix this with ease.

That one-sided ache near your beltline? It’s probably not tightness — your pelvis lost its stability.

Your SI joint barely moves. It’s built for compression, not stretching. When your glutes go MIA, every step shears it instead of squeezing it shut. No amount of stretching fixes a stability problem.

Here’s my quick go-to help calm things down 👇🏼

- mobility stick drill to calm it down and stabilize
- banded box squat with hip abduction to wake up the glute
- staggered monster walk to fire the glute medius and provide stability in multiple planes of motion

Sometimes weakness shows up as pain, not injury.

From questioning whether he’d compete again to getting back out there. That’s why we do this. 🔥

When David came to ENDRO, foot and ankle pain was affecting his ability to walk, run, and train. Dr. Phillip took the time to understand what was going on and build a plan to help him get back to doing what he loves.

David put in the work. We’re proud to be part of his comeback.

Your goals matter. Your care should reflect that.

For the love of everything, stop foam rolling your IT band.

Pain on the outside of your knee while running? You’re probably dealing with IT Band Syndrome.

Stop foam rolling the sh*t out of your IT Band. You’re beating a dead horse. It’s not a muscle, so that won’t do much for it.

That “tight” IT band is doing more work because your glutes aren’t pulling their weight… probably because you keep skipping legs….

Instead, build hip strength, stability, and single-leg control.

Try these:

Double-Banded Staggered Stance Monster Walk
2 × 15 steps each direction

Single-Leg Banded RDL — Glute Med Focus
2× 10 each leg

Banded Single-Leg Pistol Box Squat
2 × 8 each leg

Stop bruising your IT band. Start strengthening your glute so it doesn’t have to do all the work during your runs

Save this for your next accessory day and incorporate it weekly. Click the link in my bio or shoot me a dm if you’re dealing with ITB Syndrome and can’t fix it by @dr.hatjopoulos

I’ve been dealing with a ton of ankle and calf tightness recently and came to realize that a lot of the problem may be stemming from my feet. These are some of the exercises I do throughout the week to strengthen my feet and relieve tension through the plantar fascia:

* Ball squeeze calf raises
* Golf ball foot rollouts
* Toe extension rocks
* Banded ankle eversion
* Toe yoga

Save this routine for the next time your feet and ankles need some extra work.
