Hi 👋🏾 Welcome!

I’ve wanted to share on this page for the longest time, always waiting for everything to align—or perhaps waiting for the “perfect” moment. 🤩

But I’ve come to realize that the best time to start is now.

So here I am, choosing to show up even while I’m still growing, learning, and working toward the goals I have for myself.

I currently work as an Associate Physician in Obstetrics & Gynecology, and I hope one day to practice as an OB/GYN.

As an IMG, my journey has been marked by sacrifice, resilience, faith, and an unwavering passion for what I do. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: keep dreaming, keep believing, and don’t be afraid to start before you feel ready.

I love teaching and educating at every opportunity I get, and I hope this space becomes one where we can learn, grow, and have meaningful conversations together.

Beyond medicine, I’m blessed to be a wife and a mum. Here, I’ll be sharing the beautiful intersection of medicine, motherhood, family, and faith—the realities, the lessons, and the moments that matter most.

Thank you for being here. ❤️

DAY 4 OF 75 ❤️✨

LIFE LESSONS THAT HAVE CARRIED ME THROUGH THE YEARS

Looking back at this photo from my early years of practice, I can’t help but appreciate how far God has brought me. 🥹❤️

So much has changed, so much has been learned, and so many lessons have shaped the woman I am today.

Today, I’m sharing some of the life quotes that have continued to inspire and guide me through the years. Some have reminded me to keep going, others have taught me patience, and above all, they’ve reminded me to trust God even when I cannot see the whole picture. 🙏🏽❤️

Because life isn’t just about how far you go; it’s also about the wisdom you gather along the way.

Day 4 of 75 is a little wisdom from my journey to yours, and a reminder that there is nothing too hard for God to accomplish through a heart that continues to trust Him. ❤️

Taste and see that the Lord is good! He remains faithful through every season, every transition, and every uncertainty. 🙌🏽❤️

Before I start preaching… 😂🤭 Tell me, what is ONE quote or life principle that has carried you through life?

I’d love to hear yours! 👇🏽❤️

DAY 3 OF 75 ❤️

Wow! Grateful to have made it to Day 3 because, honestly, it’s been a bit of a challenge! 🥹❤️ I’ve been feeling a little under the weather, but we’re still showing up, one day at a time. 🙏🏽

Today, I’m sharing 7 principles I stand by as a doctor ;values that guide how I live, work, and treat people. ❤️

I believe that if you don’t stand for something, you can easily fall for anything. Our values are what ground us, guide our decisions, and remind us of who we are, especially when doing the right thing isn’t the easiest option.

As the saying goes, “If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don’t have integrity, nothing else matters.”

Because titles may open doors, but character determines how we walk through them.

These are principles I hope to keep living by, both in medicine and in life.

Now tell me: What’s ONE principle you will never compromise on? 👇🏽❤️

A little recap of our weekend: good food, family, faith, and a whole lot of calories! 😂❤️🍂

1. Fluffy pancakes to the rescue! 🥞🤤
The best way to survive this weather? Homemade, fluffy pancakes, of course! Made enough to last the kids the whole week. 😮‍💨❤️ Because apparently, motherhood means meal prepping for everyone except yourself. 😂 It’s always the kids first!
Some new fall decor courtesy of a lovely little human that I’m still trying to figure out what to gift her🥰❤️

2. Kenyan masala tea is NON-NEGOTIABLE! ☕🇰🇪
And of course, we had to have our Kenyan masala tea, brewed to absolute perfection. 👌🏾🥰
Some things just make a house feel like home!

3. Hair day with my little princess! 👑💕
Wueh! 😮‍💨😂 Doing this girl’s hair requires prayer, patience, commitment, determination… and possibly a small miracle! 🤣 So we don’t start until we’re mentally prepared for the mission.

AND GUESS WHAT?!

My very first attempt at cornrows was a TOTAL SUCCESS! 🥹🙌🏾❤️ Now, the real test is whether I can reproduce this masterpiece next time or if this was a one-time anointing! 😂😂🥰

4. Our second Thanksgiving in Canada! 🍁🇨🇦❤️
EBENEZER! 🙌🏾❤️ Thus far, the Lord has helped us! We have truly been helped by God❤️

Looking back at how far we’ve come, all we can say is that God has been our all in all. Through every season, He has remained faithful, dependable, and good. We are truly grateful for His sustaining grace over our family. 🥹🙏🏾

Happy Thanksgiving🍂🍁🇨🇦

5. Ending the weekend on a sweet note! 🎂🎉
We rounded off the weekend by celebrating the birthday of such a sweet boy! 🥳❤️ And of course, there was CHAPATI and PILAU! 😍🇰🇪 Because how else are we supposed to celebrate properly?!

Now, let’s talk about the calories I have accumulated this weekend. 🥲😂 Pancakes, masala tea, chapati, pilau… the evidence is overwhelming! 🤣

Workout starts tomorrow. FOR REAL THIS TIME. 🏋🏾‍♀️😂 (Please don’t ask me again on Wednesday!)

All in all, it was a weekend filled with beautiful little moments, family, laughter, good food, and so much to be thankful for. ❤️🥰

Your hospital bag does NOT need to break the bank! 👜

As a healthcare professional who works in Labour & Delivery, here’s my reminder: pack for what you actually need, not everything the internet tells you to buy. 😅

Look good? Absolutely.
Feel comfortable? YES.
Spend a fortune? Absolutely not! 😂

Because let’s be honest… you still have years’ worth of diapers and wipes to buy! 😭😂 So save that money where you can and stay within your budget 👌

Prioritize the essentials, use what you already have at home if you have older babies, and choose affordable options where possible. You’re going to the hospital to have a baby not to move in! 😂👶🏾

Save this for your hospital bag packing day and send it to a mama to be who needs the reminder! ❤️🥰

Practical > expensive.
Comfortable > excessive.
Prepared > Pinterest-perfect.

Happy Packing ❤️

This September, Labour & Delivery has been feeling extra hectic, with the most wonderful season for catching babies. ❤️ Clearly, nine months ago, Christmas brought more than just presents! 😂

In the middle of all the beautiful chaos, I received these thoughtful gifts from an amazing little human with the BIGGEST heart. 🥹❤️ I’m still wondering what I did to deserve such kindness! And my husband topped it all off with these beautiful flowers. 💐❤️

So here’s your reminder to show a little extra love to your L&D nurses, midwives, doctors, support staff, and the incredible NICU team. If September is anything to go by, the Christmas season certainly kept us busy! 😂❤️

A special thank you to everyone who picked up extra shifts and worked overtime to come in and help. Your support made such a difference, and it did not go unnoticed. 🫶🏽

To every L&D and NICU team member: may your coffee be strong, your breaks be uninterrupted, and your patients be kind. I’m so grateful to work alongside all the amazing people in my department. 🥰❤️ Thank you for showing up with compassion, strength, and love especially on the busiest days. You are appreciated more than you know! 🫶🏽

Here’s something I don’t always say out loud…

Sometimes, I wonder if I’m really doing this right.

As the firstborn, I’ve gotten used to carrying things. Or maybe it’s just me!!! Thinking ahead. Wondering if everyone is okay. Loving and caring for people deeply and sometimes carrying their burdens as though they were mine.

My mind wanders…A LOT. 😂 I can be here today while my thoughts are already somewhere in tomorrow.

And if I’m being honest, sometimes I worry more than I should.

But then I remember the lilies or just nature by itself.

If God dresses the lilies of the valley with such beauty and splendor, how much more will He care for me? Mathew 6:28-30.

Maybe I don’t need to figure everything out tonight.

Maybe I can just breathe, release what I cannot control, and trust the One who is already in my tomorrow.

If your heart has been carrying tomorrow too, pause today and give it back to God.

May we learn to trust Him who has never failed us with what we cannot yet see ✌🏾❤️❤️

“When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭61‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

That first postpartum pee? It can be a little bit different than expected😅🚽

After delivery, the bladder can temporarily have trouble sensing when it’s full or emptying completely. This can happen because of swelling, pelvic floor changes, a long labour, epidural/spinal anesthesia, or having a urinary catheter.

There are two types to know about:
🩷 Overt retention: you’re unable to urinate within the expected timeframe after delivery or catheter removal.
🩷 Covert retention: you’re able to pee, but your bladder may still have a significant amount of urine left behind.

That’s why your healthcare team may ask when you last urinated, assess how much you’re passing, and sometimes check your bladder with a bladder scan.

And mama, this isn’t meant to scare you before delivery. Most women recover normally. It’s simply one of those postpartum things we don’t always talk about but knowing what to expect can make the experience a little less surprising. 🤎

Did you know postpartum urinary retention was a thing? 👇🏾

The truth is….,,you don’t need to buy every product marketed as a postpartum essential. Some things may make those first few weeks more comfortable, while others may not be necessary for you at all.

❤️Stay within your budget.
❤️Get what you consider essential for you.
❤️Prioritize comfort, rest, recovery, and support.
❤️And remember you’re allowed to make postpartum a little more enjoyable.

Even though we can’t make every part of postpartum glamorous, we can make it a little more comfortable and memorable ❤️
