I stepped into the ’80s, but I brought my whole woman with me. ✨
There comes a season when you stop shrinking, stop explaining, and stop waiting for permission to become who God created you to be.
I’m embracing strength with grace, authority without noise, and beauty with purpose.
The woman I’m becoming doesn’t need to compete.
She simply shows up, stands tall, and walks in her assignment. 👑 😊

Somewhere in becoming everything I am to everyone else, I almost lost the thread of who I am to myself.
So this is me, relearning it. Not with a bubble bath. With smaller things, saying no without guilt, resting without earning it first, being as patient with myself as I am with the people I sit across from every day.

Today feels even more special than the years before. Watching you blossom into a God-fearing young man fills my heart with deep joy and gratitude to the Almighty God, who has been your guide and your shield.

I pray that the Lord continues to order your steps, grant you wisdom beyond your years, and surround you with His favor. May His hand rest upon you in all you do, protecting you, strengthening you, and leading you in paths of righteousness. May your heart remain tender toward God, your spirit courageous, and your purpose clear.

There was a time when my journey didn’t make sense.

Moments when prayers felt heavy, the waiting was long, and the answers were silent.

But one thing remained steady, my faith in God.

I’ve learned that faith doesn’t mean the absence of struggle.
Faith is trusting God in the middle of anxiety, exhaustion, and uncertainty.
Showing up honestly and still saying, “Lord, I believe you are at work.”

God has carried me through seasons I couldn’t have survived on my own.
He strengthened my mind, healed my heart, and reminded me that delay is not denial.

In this season, I prioritize my mental well-being.
I unapologetically love myself, set healthy boundaries, and honor the healing God is doing within me.

Today, I am humbled as I reflect on God’s faithfulness and my nursing journey. It was a dream that began in 1996 at JUTH, Nigeria.

My father spoke this calling into my life, and my mother carried the baton, praying it through until her last breath last year.

I dedicate this Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner achievement🎓 to Bami, Emmanuel Oladele Akanji, and Mami, Ruth Mosunmade Akanji 😭🕊🕊

This journey has been one of faith and perseverance through many storms. Yet through it all, God has been faithful. 🙏🏽

To every girl with a dream, every woman balancing motherhood, full-time work, and school, I see you. I’m rooting for you!!💛

Give yourself grace.🤗
Take breaks.
Surround yourself with people who believe in you.
Prioritize your mental health. And remember, you are your best cheerleader.

I give thanks to the Almighty God, the Creator of heaven and earth, and with Him, all things are possible.
I am deeply grateful for His grace and favor. This journey has been a profound test of my faith as a mother.
What began as a small seed, “Mom, I know someone who is going to West Point” has blossomed into a reality that only God could bring to life - United States Air Force Academy.

Today, I choose gratitude.

Looking back, I see God’s faithfulness in every season. The answered prayers, the unexpected blessings, the strength to endure what once felt impossible. Even in waiting, even in the unknown, His love has never wavered.

There were heavy days, but His grace carried me. There were uncertain moments, but His peace sustained me. So today, I celebrate not just another year but the goodness of God in my life.

Here’s to another year of grace, purpose, and walking with Him.

Reflection: Day 5

In my father's words—"Be kind. Sometimes, it won’t yield the right results, but don't stop extending grace."

I've learned that kindness isn't a transaction, and it doesn't mean a lack of boundaries.

So, I will extend grace without depleting myself. And I choose kindness—not for the outcome, but because it's who I want to be.
