Well, it seems the man who’s been known as the longevity expert and biohacking his way to the “healthiest man in the world” is not as healthy as he thought.

While I have empathy for the man, this is a good lesson for all of us to address the root cause of many issues.

We’ve all been repeatedly exposed to toxins from multiple sources (the environment, your home, foods, etc) and your cells and nerves are taking the brunt of the overload and creating health issues.

The best way to combat this and take the pressure off is to do a cellular detox. Whether it’s mine (Alchemy Cleanse protocol) or someone else’s, you should do a deep dive into how it can help clean your body out down to a cellular level and reset your body’s physiology so it functions more optimally.

For questions about mine, feel free to privately DM me. by @dradamfogelman

How important is the health of your teeth? Very important!

Tooth health is very impactful on the health of the body and you as a whole.

Your mouth acts like a drain, so if there is anything going on in the teeth, infections or otherwise, it could leach into the body and embed itself in the tissues and cause further health issues.

Each tooth correlates to an organ or gland via an Acupuncture Meridian Point, so if there’s a problem with a specific tooth, there could be a problem with its correlating organ or gland.

Another potential issue are the fillings used when there are cavities. You want to find out what options you have, but if you already have mercury (metal) fillings, you may want to get a test done called a Mercury Vapor Test. This test will show the amount of mercury vapor coming off each tooth. This vapor could be ingested in the body and cause further heavy metal toxicity.

Root canals are a hot topic in today’s society. Without giving my specific advice or opinion, the procedure itself involves the nerve root linking that tooth to the immune system to be severed, the tooth is cleaned out and the bacteria is removed, then the tooth gets sealed back up.

The problem is that teeth are very porous and if the tooth is sealed, it could act as a hotbed for bacteria to regrow. This time though, there’s no immune system link to that tooth to help fight an infection.

If a root canal is possibly needed, my best advice would be to seek out a holistic or biological dentist for a second opinion.

As we age, it’s more important than ever to nourish our bodies with food that isn’t going to cause inflammation, or stress out our metabolic health.

Metabolic health involves how you process foods such as fats and sugars. The foods you put into your body, break down into sugars in the blood stream.

Insulin then is produced and acts like a guide, to move the sugar out of the bloodstream and either utilize it as energy, or store it as fat.

Sugar is stored in the liver (20% of it) and then in the muscles (80%). Depending on how much sugar is present, excess amounts then get stored in fat cells.

After those fat cells are full, insulin is continues to be produced, trying to force more of that sugar into fat cells, which the body now “resists,” because the fat cells are at capacity.

This is where “insulin resistance” comes in. When this happens, this can lead to a number of issues:

❌Weight gain
❌High blood sugar
❌Cardiovascular issues

How to eat?

✅Prioritize protein
✅Ear as much whole food as possible
✅Remove processed foods
✅Keep alcohol and sugars low
✅Drink plenty of water

Other lifestyle factors that help:

🔥Prioritize quality sleep
🔥Daily movement

LACTIC ACID is a byproduct that is created when the muscles are being used rigorously in such cases as with lifting weights, high intensity exercise (HIIT), plyometrics, sprints, etc.

This lactic acid gets pulled out of the muscles by the LIVER and KIDNEYS, and turns into glucose in the blood stream, and then get restored in the muscle as glycogen.

This GLYCOGEN is not only used as energy, but for every 1 gram of glycogen, it can bind to 3 grams of water. This water gets pulled into the muscles to not only hydrate it, but to help grow the muscle.

Most of the time the soreness you feel in the muscles after you exercise is actually not a buildup of lactic acid in the muscles. The lactic acid should mostly be filtered out by the Liver and Kidneys before muscle soreness sets in.

It there is actually any buildup after your work out, it is possibly due to Liver and kidneys not functioning optimally, which can cause them to not filter the lactic acid out properly.

That actual soreness you’ll feel about an hour later, after rigorous exercise, is more likely going to be MICROTEARS in the muscles, causing swelling and inflammation, which is actually healthy if you’re wanting to build and grow muscle.

If there is actually a build up of lactic acid in the muscle, some early symptoms include:
* Nausea and vomiting
* Exhaustion and fatigue
* Fast, deep breathing
* Muscle cramps and body aches.

How to get rid of excess lactic acid?

✅Low-intensity movements (yoga, walking and/or biking)
✅Foam rolling
✅Time in between exercise sets
✅Proper hydration
✅Proper, deep breathing
✅Reduce exercise intensity
✅De-stress the liver

👉🏻Taking supplements like: Milk Thistle, Vitamin C and Choline
👉🏻Liver/Gallbladder flush
👉🏻Manual Liver/Gallbladder release
👉🏻Flush the Lymphatic System to the Liver

✅De-stress the Kidneys

👉🏻Increase water intake
👉🏻Take supplements like: Vitamins B1, B2 and B6, Vitamin C, probiotics and CoQ10
👉🏻Flush the Lymphatic System to the Kidneys

SLEEP is one of the 7 pillars to maintaining great health. It helps to:

🔥Boost the immune system so you get sick less often
🔥Regenerate your organs by stimulating lymph to remove waste/byproducts
🔥Lose weight by burning off unhealthy fat
🔥Lowers risk from serious health problems, like diabetes & heart disease
🔥Reduce stress & improve mood
🔥Increase mental clarity

As we get older, our health becomes more about maintenance and prevention, through discipline, routine and better choices.

One of the main factors when looking at sleep habits, is the 24-HOUR CLOCK. All the body’s organs regenerate within a 3-hour block of time.

If you’re waking up prematurely around the same time every night, look to the organ that’s supposed to regenerate within that 3-hour window. It could provide some clue as to why your sleep is off.

9-11pm: Adrenal glands
11-1am: Gallbladder
1-3am: Liver
3-5am: Lungs
5-7am: Large Intestine
7-9am: Stomach

Possible sleep issues reoccurring around the same time every evening, could be due to:

⛔️Nutritional deficiency
⛔️Specific emotion that the body is holding onto and causing stress,
⛔️Bone misalignment compressing on a nerve, decreasing the signals coming from the brain to the body
⛔️Stagnant lymphatic drainage from that specific organ
⛔️Blocked energy from a certain Acupuncture Meridian point

Our health is a reflection of how we choose to live. Here are some changes to make:

✅Keep the heat off at night. The colder your room is, the hotter your body gets, the more energy it releases.
✅Sleep naked; or with as little clothes as possible. Clothing impedes movement during sleep, makes your body hotter & decreases your ability to expel heat.
✅No screen time an hour before sleep. Blue light from electronics will trick your body into thinking it’s still daylight.
✅Finish eating food 2-3 hours before bedtime.
✅Journal, meditate, stretch or do light yoga before bedtime to relax your mind & lower stress.
✅If you have a child/children & they get up early in the morning, go to bed earlier.
✅Get blood work done to see if you are deficient in amino acids (tryptophan), neurotransmitters (GABA), minerals (magnesium) & hormones (melatonin). taken in San Diego, California by @dradamfogelman

If you’ve been diagnosed with any type of ARTHRITIS, or have arthritic-like symptoms, such as…

⛔️Pain
⛔️Swelling (Inflammation)
⛔️Decrease in movement
⛔️Stiffness
⛔️Overall discomfort

There are 2 types:

1️⃣Degenerative - degeneration of cartilage and demineralization of bone (more commonly known as -> Osteoarthritis)

2️⃣Inflammatory - an autoimmune disease which the immune system attacks the joints (Rheumatoid, Psoriatic, Gout and Ankylosing Spondylitis)

There are certain foods you may want to steer clear of…

 ❌Seed Oils

- Omega-6s are found in oils such as corn, safflower, sunflower, soy and vegetable and products made with those oils.
- Excess consumption of omega-6s can trigger the body to produce pro-inflammatory chemicals

❌Lectins

- These are proteins that bind to carbohydrates. They are difficult to break down in the gut and because of that, can trigger an immune response.

❌Gluten

- A protein found in many types of grains (wheat, barley and rye)
- They can create more inflammation in the body and trigger an immune response (especially when it comes to the Thyroid Gland).

❌Trans Fats

- These can trigger or worsen inflammation and are very bad for cardiovascular health.
- On labels, they are referred to as “partially hydrogenated vegetable oils.”

❌Fried Foods

- These will cause inflammation by triggering the body’s defense mechanisms, which can set off an arthritic flare-up.
- These are overcooked and contain many known carcinogens.

❌Processed Foods
- Contain a number of heavily processed ingredients, which can cause inflammation and arthritic-like symptoms.

👉🏻Nutrition to be on:
✅Multi mineral/Trace mineral
 ✅Glucosamine
 ✅Chondroitin
 ✅Turmeric (Curcumin)
 ✅Fish oils (Omega 3s)
 ✅GLA
 ✅Ginger

👉🏻Foods to eat:
 ✅Avocado
 ✅Fatty fish (salmon, sardines, etc)
 ✅Dark leafy green vegetables
 ✅Olive, coconut and avocado oils
 ✅Berries
 ✅Garlic
 ✅Onion

👉🏻Drink plenty of alkaline water - increases Ph and decrease- acidity.
👉🏻Cold plunge/bath/shower - reduces inflammation and regulates the Central Nervous System.
👉🏻Sauna - reduces inflammation and reduce toxins.
👉🏻Rebounder bouncing - increases lymphatic flow. taken in San Diego, California by @dradamfogelman

As men age, testosterone levels go down. After the age of 30, most men begin to experience a gradual decline, which can be increased based on lifestyle choices.

This hormone affects appearance, sexual development, sperm production, sex drive, energy levels and helps build muscle and bone mass.

If your testosterone production drastically drops, you may experience a range of symptoms. Signs of low testosterone are often subtle and can include:

👉🏻Metabolically:

⬆️Aromatase enzyme - converts testosterone into estrogen
⬆️Cortisol

👉🏻Low sex drive
👉🏻Difficulty maintaining an erection
👉🏻Hot flashes
👉🏻Hair loss
👉🏻Fatigue
👉🏻Decreased muscle mass

The Ileocecal Valve (ICV) is a valve that sits between the Ileum (the last portion of the Small Intestine) and the Cecum (the first portion of the Large Intestine).

It’s responsible for allowing food to pass through the Small Intestine into the Large Intestine, in addition to being a one-way valve designed to prevent waste materials from re-entering the Small Intestines.

This valve is supposed to regulate between opening and closing. When the valve becomes stuck, digestion gets disrupted causing unhealthy toxins to build up leading the body absorbing toxins.

If the valve dysfunctions, it could either be stuck open, which causes diarrhea, or be stuck closed, which causes constipation.

4 reasons for the Ileocecal Valve to dysfunction:

1️⃣Severe, mental/emotional stress
2️⃣Bacterial overgrowth
3️⃣Parasites
4️⃣Food sensitivities/allergies

Common signs & symptoms:

⛔️Right side pelvic/shoulder pain
⛔️Flu symptoms
⛔️Low back pain
⛔️Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
⛔️Bad breath
⛔️Headaches
⛔️Constipation
⛔️Diarrhea
⛔️Dark circles under the eyes
⛔️Dizziness
⛔️Nausea

Treatments that work:

✅Chiropractic adjustments
✅Applied Kinesiology
✅Temporary elimination of foods such as:
* Roughage: Popcorn, potato chips, pretzels, whole grains
* Raw fruits and vegetables: Celery, bell peppers, cucumbers, cabbage, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes
* Spicy foods: Chili powder, hot peppers, salsas, black and cayenne pepper, paprika, cloves, cinnamon
* Stimulants: cocoa, alcohol, chocolate, caffeine products

If you’re having any of these symptoms and want to fix the problem, feel free to DM me or go to my website. taken in San Diego, California by @dradamfogelman

MINERALS are essential and vital to one’s health. They run all the biochemical reactions in the body, so the body can function optimally on a daily basis.

More reasons minerals are important and how they affect overall health:

1️⃣Building strong bones and teeth
2️⃣Controlling body fluids inside and outside the cell
3️⃣Boosting energy levels by turning the food you eat into energy
4️⃣Helps to maintain the acid-base balance and keep Ph of the body as neutral as possible
5️⃣They function in nerve impulse transmission and muscle contraction
6️⃣Supports the Nervous system and Thyroid function

The most essential minerals for health include:

✅Calcium - keeps muscles from cramping
✅Phosphorus - maintains and repairs cells
✅Potassium - regulates heart beat
✅Sodium - helps to increase hydration
✅Chloride - sea salt helps lower blood pressure
✅Magnesium- activates ATP (for energy) and keeps muscles from spasming
✅Iron - increases carrying capacity of oxygen and increases energy
✅Zinc - increases testosterone along with Boron
✅Iodine and Selenium - thyroid health
✅Chromium - balances blood sugar
✅Copper - increase absorption of iron and for it to be used properly
✅Molybdenum - helps to process proteins and breaks down toxic material in the body
Manganese - plays a role in far and cargo metabolism, as well as calcium absorption and regulating blood sugar

What can cause a lack of minerals in the body?

❌Poor diet
❌Poor absorption
❌Sweating too much via sauna or intense activity
❌Drinking too much water
❌The presence of toxins in the body
❌Chelation therapy to remove the toxins

The best way to find out if you are deficient in any of these minerals, is to do a blood test (vitamin and micronutrient nutrient test).

The best way to REPLENISH minerals:

1️⃣Eating nutrient-dense foods rich in minerals

👉🏻Green vegetables
👉🏻Bananas
👉🏻Coconut water
👉🏻Raw milk
👉🏻Avocados
👉🏻Almonds
👉🏻Grass fed/finished beef
👉🏻Watermelon
👉🏻Legumes

2️⃣Trace Multi Mineral supplement
3️⃣Electrolyte supplement
4️⃣Sea salt taken in San Diego, California by @dradamfogelman

Cholesterol…

On a standard blood test, a “healthy” total cholesterol level is lower than 200mg/dl.

“Borderline high” is anything above 200-239mg/dl and “high” cholesterol is 240mg/dl and over.

But what is truly considered a healthy cholesterol level? It’s more important to understand what you are nourishing your body with and what your lifestyle consists of (stress levels and activity), as opposed to the number value on the blood work itself.

When I look at cholesterol, I want to see a number between 170-180, with a higher HDL, a lower LDL, and low triglycerides.

Why is Cholesterol so important?

👉🏻It’s made mostly in the liver
👉🏻A key component in making and balancing hormones
👉🏻It helps with the formation of your memories
👉🏻Vital for neurological function

There are many factors that can cause unhealthy cholesterol levels. One of the first things to look at is DIET and what you are eating.

Foods that help to increase “GOOD” cholesterol (HDL):

🔥Organic, grass fed beef
🔥Wild Alaskan salmon
🔥Anchovies
🔥Nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts, Brazil nuts)
🔥Organic extra virgin olive oil
🔥Organic coconut oil
🔥Organic olives
🔥Organic, grass fed butter
🔥Tallow
🔥Ghee
🔥Organic avocado
🔥Cruciferous vegetables (Steamed asparagus helps to clean out the liver and lower cholesterol)
🔥Fruit (Blueberries are antioxidant and raise liver function)

Foods that increase “BAD” cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides?

🚫Processed foods
🚫Sugars
🚫Alcohol
🚫Unhealthy meat/protein
🚫Homogenized/pasteurized cow dairy
🚫Vegan milks/foods w/ additives and preservatives

Other factors that play a roll in lowering unhealthy cholesterol and blood pressure:

✅Sunlight
✅Grounding
✅Lowering stress
✅Movement
✅Lifting weights
✅Better sleep

It is important to note that while LDL has been dubbed the “bad” cholesterol, it’s more of a marker for something else going on in your body and with your lifestyle. It’s more important to get to the root cause of cholesterol imbalances, than the numbers themselves. taken in San Diego, California by @dradamfogelman
