4 bar muscle-ups. 11 years. Do the math, it’s not good. 😂

But here’s what nobody tells you about chasing a move you’re bad at for over a decade: the failing IS the training. Every miss taught me something the makes didn’t: failure doesn’t have to be heavy, patience and grip strength take time, getting up again is the win 🥇

None of that stayed at the gym. It shows up in how I run our business, how we hire, and how we handle pivots and disappointments. Turns out ‘fail, laugh, try again’ is a transferable skill.

So yeah, 4 muscle-ups, 11 years, still laughing. The scoreboard’s not the point. Showing up is.

17 years ago today we said “I do” inside a grotto in Eureka Springs AK ❤️

When I think about our marriage, I don’t just think about how long we’ve been together. I think about what we’ve built and I’m so proud of us.

A family. Two incredible boys. Businesses. Teams. A home. And a life that once existed only on vision boards, and in the conversations and “crazy ideas” between the two of us.

We’ve taken risks, changed directions, dreamed bigger and definitely driven each other crazy along the way. 😂 and 17 years later, you’re still my person. My ride or die. I love doing life with you, dreaming with you and figuring out what’s next.

Happy anniversary, Lance. ❤️

We’re nowhere near done. 🥂

Last weekend I was with @wealthypractitioners at the San Diego Tour — sitting in a room with some seriously big energy, soaking it all in, thinking bigger, and being reminded how powerful it is to put yourself in rooms that expand what you believe is possible.

Getting to listen to @drstephaniewigner @xoamandafrances and @ed_turney from Acquisition.com talk about money, business, growth, and what it actually takes to build something BIG was one of those experiences that shifts the way you think.

Out of everything I heard, this is one sentence from @drstephaniewigner landed hardest and left me feeling convicted:

“Your quantum leap happens when you stop making decisions from the evidence of your past and start making decisions from the requirements of your future.”

Oof.

Because how often do we decide what’s possible based on what’s already happened? (Me: ALL THE TIME)

What we’ve done before.
What’s worked before.
What hasn’t worked.
What we think we can afford.
What we have time for.
What feels realistic based on where we are right now.

The future we’re creating requires a completely different set of decisions. Ones that my linear brain fights against.

Different investments.
Different boundaries.
Different risks.
Different habits.
Different people in the room.
And a willingness to make a decision that doesn’t make perfect sense based on the evidence.

So I have to stop asking, “What does my past tell me I can do?”

And start asking:

“What does the future I want require me to do?”

That’s a VERY different question with VERY different answers ❤️

P.S. And a PSA — things I did NOT expect to learn this weekend: If your wild boy knocks out a permanent tooth, you have about ONE HOUR to get that sucker back in, and until you can, store it inside the cheek or in a cup of milk. Raising our boys requires equal parts personal development and emergency dentistry 😂

Sometimes loving your child means making a choice that breaks your own heart.

Today we dropped Pierson off at @hargravemilitaryacademy a college prep boarding school in Virginia. (Yes, they use a military framework. No, it’s not a reform school. 😂)

If we were making this decision based solely on what WE wanted, he would be home with us right now. (Ok, really he’d be out with his friends.) I’d have more mornings with him walking through the kitchen, more dinners around our table, more noise in the house, and more arguments about curfew 😂.

We weren’t ready for him to leave the nest this early. At all.

But parenting isn’t at all about choosing what feels best for us. Unfortunately. Sometimes it’s about stepping outside of our own wants and asking a much harder question:

What does HE need right now?

We believe this experience will give him structure, accountability, confidence, independence, and the foundation to crush just about anything!

And we are so incredibly fortunate to be able to pivot and provide this opportunity for him. Our gratitude for that is not lost in the sadness of letting him go.

There are seasons when loving them means being willing to let them go a little sooner than your heart would choose.

And here we are. ❤️

I’ve thought a lot about how some of the most important decisions in life are like this. The right decision and the easy decision are rarely the same.

As a parent.
As a spouse.
As a leader.
In business.
In life.

Growth asks us to do hard things sometimes. Today, the hard thing was driving away without Pierson in the car.

We already miss him like crazy. But more than anything, we hope he looks back on this chapter someday and knows that we believed in him enough to make the hard choice. Not because we wanted him farther away, but because we know his potential and it’s our job to help make it his reality ❤️

We love you P!

I’m convinced life is 50% doing the things you love… and 50% doing the things you’d rather skip.

For me, that don’t love list includes:
• Photo shoots like this one
• Putting myself out there on social media
• Getting up early for CrossFit
• Making my bed
• Eating enough protein (🙏 @l.gard )
• Taking my supplements
• Practicing radical candor

None of these I chose because I can’t wait for them to happen. And some of them come with a good dose of anxiety.

But they make me a stronger, healthier, more disciplined, and more expanded human.

Success usually isn’t built in the big moments. It’s built in the quiet decisions you make over and over again - the ones no one applauds, the ones you’d rather avoid, the ones that compound over time.

The life we want is often hiding on the other side of the habits we resist.

So today, instead of asking yourself, “What do I feel like doing?” ask yourself:

“What’s one thing I know I should do that my future self will thank me for?”

Do that. Then do it again tomorrow.

That’s how your potential is unleashed.

Stepping back doesn’t always mean stepping out.

For a long time, I believed the only way to make a bigger impact was to spend more time in the clinic. More patient hours. More certifications. More doing.

But this season looks different.

I’m down to two days a week in clinic, and honestly… I’m more excited than ever.

Lance and I are back to chasing a pre-Covid dream — five clinics in five years. And with new AI tools and 15 years of experience the timeline is accelerated.

I’m still a chiropractor, and I still love caring for patients. But I’ve realized my role has expanded beyond treating people one-on-one. It’s about building a team, creating systems, developing leaders, and growing something that will help more people than we ever could alone.

Stepping back from one role has allowed me to step fully into another.

Sometimes growth doesn’t look like doing more.
Sometimes it looks like creating the space to build something bigger.

Here’s to the next chapter. 🔥and big thanks to @drstephaniewigner who reminds me that a BDQ!

People jaw drop when they hear that Lance and I are business partners 😂Here’s are just 5 of the many things that make it work for us:

1. The best ideas don’t always come from strategy sessions - they show up when we’re arguing and trying to find a compromise between two ideas 😂

2. We don’t think alike, and that’s exactly why this works. Alignment can waver at times - respect is a must.

3. Business will test your patience and your resolve, and sometimes so will marriage - keep going.

4. I make sure to put on my wife and mom hat at home. It takes discipline when I could just keep working, but being present is a must.

5. We keep following what excites us - we honor those scrappy startup vibes and mobilize them when we’re getting too comfortable 🔥

Coming up on 17 years of marriage, 15 in business, raising a family, and still excited for what’s next — and if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that choosing each other, again and again, is what makes all of this work.

Still building. ❤️

Italy wasn’t just about checking famous places off a list.

Yes, Simon and I stood in the Colosseum, tossed a coin into the Trevi Fountain, marveled at the work of Michelangelo, St. Peter’s Basilica, explored Pompeii, soaked in the beauty of the Amalfi Coast, and ate more incredible pasta and gelato than I care to admit. Walked the city for miles, learned to make pasta, and soaked in the art of street performers. We spent 10 days being completely present with each other with no other responsibilities! It was amazing! Those one-on-one moments are rare these days, and I don’t take them for granted.

While all the sites were jaw dropping, what I loved the most were conversations while wandering cobblestone streets. The laughter over long dinners. Meeting a lovely couple from Northern England who reminded us how quickly strangers can become friends, and watching Simon experience a different culture with curiosity and confidence.

And for an end cap which couldn’t get any better, we reunited with family to celebrate one of life’s biggest moments, watching our beautiful niece @ybarra.ashlyn marry the love of her life. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable adventure.

Time with our kids is finite. I’m grateful for every conversation, every laugh, every mile walked, every shared meal, and every moment that reminded me how lucky we are to do life together. 🇮🇹❤️

Ps. While we wish we could have done this together - duty called so Pierson and Lance were off in Mexico deep sea fishing and resorting in between board meetings 🇲🇽

First day of kindergarten! Simon had picked out his own outfit. He walked in with confidence, his own sense of style, and a personality that was already unmistakably him.

That little boy who has always been a little unconventional, endlessly funny, curious, and ready for whatever adventure came next is somehow now graduating 8th grade.

The years have flown by, but one thing has never changed, Simon has always marched to the beat of his own drum, and I hope he always does.

We are incredibly proud of the young man he’s becoming and so grateful we’ve had a front-row seat to watching him grow.

8th grade: ✅❤️
Next stop: high school

My last little.

Tonight Simon wrapped up 8th grade with his formal, — we got here in a flash.

Literally I feel like just yesterday I was dropping him off at his little Montessori school, and now he’s standing taller than me — 100% authentically Simon (IYKYK) living his best full life and getting ready for high school.

This milestone has me reflecting on both of my boys and how quickly the years have passed. One is already navigating high school and finding his way. The other is about to begin that journey. Different personalities and different lessons to learn along the way.

The teen years have brought hard conversations, growing pains, mistakes, and moments when none of us had all the answers — AND ALSO so much resilience, laughter, forgiveness, growth, and love.

Being their mom has been the greatest adventure of my life. Not because it’s been easy, but because I’ve had the privilege of watching two incredible humans become more fully themselves with each passing year.

Watching my boys grow up is such a blessing. I’m incredibly proud of who they are in their hearts and the character they’re building along the way.

8th grade: complete. ❤️

Now on to the next chapter.

I’ve had a lot of adventures so far in this life.
Built businesses.
Taken so many risks 😂🙏
Traveled.
Consistently said yes to things that scared me.

But nothing has been a greater adventure than being a mom.

Watching little humans grow into who they’re becoming is wild and beautiful all at once. You’re so needed for so many things and then overnight, you’re simply the guardrails on their own roads.

The road trips, the sidelines, the do-overs, the phases, the victories, the lessons, the chaos, the laughter… somehow those become the moments you treasure most.

Parenting changes you if you let it.
It softens you, stretches you, teaches you, and gives your life a kind of meaning that’s hard to explain until you’re in it.

Out of everything I’ve done in my life so far, this is still the greatest adventure. And still my greatest love. ❤️

Happy Mothers Day to all the badass Moms I know and love ❤️ and to Pierson and Simon who will forever be my greatest blessing ❤️

5:17am alarm.
6am in the gym.
5 days a week.

And if I’m being honest…
I rarely feel like being there.

But I go anyway.

Because one day, I’ll be carrying grandkids who don’t even exist yet 😂
up a mountain on my back, and I know functional fitness is the only way I’ll get there!

So yeah… muscles are nice.
And in peri-meno, I know I need them.

But that’s not the goal.

The goal is family.
Legacy.
And being an example of what’s possible.

At this age, I’m not chasing PRs anymore.
I’m chasing longevity.

I’m chasing the discipline.
The follow-through.
The people I get to do it with.

Because the strength you build in here
isn’t just physical.
It’s grit, confidence, and determination
that shows up everywhere else in your life.

And I plan to be a strong, capable,
badass grandma someday. 💪
