It was a pleasure joining the @britishbeautycouncil and many other key beauty leaders at Downing Street this evening to kick off British Beauty Week! 🇬🇧

It is always a joy to take a moment each year to reflect on the impact of an industry I’m so grateful to be a part of. 🩵 taken in 10 Downing Street by @dranitasturnham

More exfoliation doesn’t mean better skin...

In fact, over-exfoliating can leave your skin feeling sensitised, tight and unsettled, and more product doesn’t always mean more results.

At Nuriss, Dr Anita and her team take a considered, clinical approach to skincare, looking at what your skin actually needs rather than following the latest trend or adding more steps. With the support of Decree, Dr Anita has created a highly considered approach to daily, evening and weekly skincare, helping you build a routine that supports your skin, rather than overwhelms it.

Because great skin starts with understanding your skin, knowing when to do less, and having the right guidance to put you on the right path.

Invest in your skin longevity today at Nuriss.co.uk

Post-summer skin concerns are often more complex than dryness or uneven pigmentation alone.

After prolonged UV exposure, heat and environmental stress, your skin can undergo changes both at the surface and within deeper layers. From disruption of the skin barrier and inflammation, to increased pigmentation and collagen damage.

So, what’s actually happening beneath the surface and what can you do to support your skin’s recovery? ☀️

Tanmaxxing....

What actually happens to your skin when you “tan-max”?

Tanmaxxing is the trend of deliberately maximising UV exposure to achieve a deeper, longer-lasting tan but understanding the science behind tanning is crucial.

When UV radiation reaches your skin, it triggers a biological defence response. Melanocytes produce more melanin, which gives the skin a darker appearance. That tan is your skin responding to UV-induced DNA damage!

The more you expose your skin to UV, the more cumulative damage you can build up contributing to premature skin ageing, pigmentation, collagen breakdown and an increased risk of skin cancer.

So while a deeper tan might look like the goal, biologically, your skin is telling you something very different.

Let’s understand the science, not just follow the trend. ☀️ taken in Nuriss Skincare & Wellness Centre by @dranitasturnham
