Final Axonometric _ 1_100 _ Graphite and coloured pencil on tracing paper.

3 apartments ‘nestled’ within a haven of avian biodiversity - the ‘Nest’ explores interspecies connections when living side by side. It simultaneously becomes a space for community interaction and coexistence, and independent living for the inhabitants.

Drawing by: @yanggg.space 0608-061326. And all that is solid melts into air.

Been inspired by ‘Sweeping’ and ‘Wheeling’ fields of Gibson.

Architectural discourse has long treated geometry as an instrument of abstraction aligned with technoscientific rationality, separating it from the “poetic” dimensions of dwelling. Quoting “poetics” here to also emphasize that under the current world system, is also a category that has historically marginalized situated, embodied, and non-Western spatial knowledge.

How does current ecological thinking and ethnographic methods situate geometric thinking and such scientific inquiry?

“We modern, civilized, indoors adults are so accustomed to looking at a page or a picture, or through a window, that we often lose the feeling of being surrounded by the environment, our sense of the ambient array of light. Even when outdoors
under the sky, one is apt to be driving an automobile and looking only through the windshield, or traveling in a vehicle where the window to the outside world is constructed to a small angle. We do not look around.” Gibson 1986

Drawing by: @joshcooke_architecture The City-Room, The Water Tower + The Garden

Reimagining a disused water tower in the suburbs of Milan as a source rather than a container and making it more watery and more towery.

By restoring its central void, rainwater becomes visible through light, sound, movement, and reflection, reconnecting the tower to the landscape below. The water once held within the structure is redistributed into a new civic garden and public city-room, creating spaces for gathering, play, performance, rest, and care. Preserving the existing fabric while introducing lightweight, reversible interventions, the project transforms former infrastructure into an accessible, inclusive landscape rooted in community and wellbeing.

A shorter project in collaboration with Hi thank you so much for the last repost! One of the tags of the guy I worked on the project with is outdated, do you think you’d be able to update please @dadomaitis_architecture as part of @front.room.studio

Repost from: @zacharymollica One large drawing per group. Alongside their physical creations, each team of students was tasked with producing an ambitiously layered hybrid drawing in Tools for Close Observation at @uoftdaniels. The drawings combine scan data with annotations, measurements and collage among other layers. All work by undergraduate Daniels students.

Drawing by: @l.luiii > Control & Symbiosis Development

A more detailed development of the space and the *parasites. It includes multiple sets of exploration on control & symbiosis relationships, ergonomics, and energy transport systems. It also considers possible actuators and how the forces can be translated into different directions to adapt to the shape of the room.

*”Parasite” is defined as mechanism that installed on/to the built structure/ environment in this project.

Registering Urban Tremors:
The Observatory at the World’s End
.

This project began with a found bike,
an overlooked artefact on the Royal
Mile whose fractured frame was part of
other neglected objects and residues
that settle into the street’s daily fabric.
From that single object emerged an
interest in the tremors that pass
through Edinburgh each day: the
misplaced, the discarded, the repeated
gestures and seasonal rituals that
accumulate into a form of civic memory.
.

The World’s End Observatory is thus imagined as an instrument within this larger city imaginary, a device that registers, archives, and occasionally reorganizes these traces at the edge of the city, where the Netherbow Port once stood.
.

The work tests how these disturbances
might become spatial, and to outline
the beginnings of a city calibrated
through its own fleeting rhythms and
overlooked artefacts.

Drawing by: @oscarchitecture_ ‘Canongate Meadery’ 2025

Axonometric Drawing (45-45), HB pencil on parchment paper

-
The city of Edinburgh, like many old cities, exists in a situation of multiple temporal frames that lend it a mythic quality. Tasked with proposing Inhabited Bridges across an imagined wetland, the proposal for a meadery seeks to act as a gathering point within this mythic context.
Extending east from what was formerly the Nor Loch is a fluid territory - sometimes wet, sometimes dry - separating the Old and New Towns. At the far end, within Canongate, a stone tower is planned, rooted firmly in the volcanic bedrock of Edinburgh. As the stone tower is built up, a well is dug down, tapping into the saturated aquifer beneath, long known to brewers as the Charmed Circle. The tower is a meadery, where honey (cultivated from the wetland flora) and water (dredged from the Charmed Circle) ferment together to produce mead. It is a place of experimental Zymology; old recipes are researched, reinvented, and renewed, and through this form of cultural archaeology, time is bridged.
Nestled into this tower and propped on stone foundations, a bridge is constructed. Timber vessels are suspended across the wetland, renewing a civic commons that has been nearly rendered extinct: the Mead Hall. Spanning across the wetland, the bridge links to Whitfoord House, a veterans’ residence gradually marooned by the encroaching wetland. In gathering these moments of landscape and production, the Mead Hall becomes a place of refuge, banqueting, and community.
