✨Your Favorite Village Witch. Pregnancy, Birth, babies & bits of life. Inspiring you to make life yours. @bellyblissdenver @villagetalkspodcast
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Hi, I’m Dr. Brittany 👋🏼

If you’re new here, I’m so glad you found your way to this little corner of the internet.

Over the last decade, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside hundreds of families through preconception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, breastfeeding, infancy, and beyond. I’ve worn many hats along the way. Chiropractor, birth doula, IBCLC, advocate, business owner, associate, and forever student.

But more than anything, I’m someone who believes that people deserve to understand their bodies, trust themselves, and feel supported through life’s biggest transitions.

My work lives at the intersection of science and intuition, physiology and connection, clinical knowledge and human experience.

You’ll find me talking about birth, babies, the nervous system, lifestyle, healing, relationships, motherhood, movement, family dynamics, and occasionally sharing pieces of my own life too.

I believe pregnancy is not a pathology.
I believe babies communicate through their bodies.
I believe healing happens in relationship.
I believe families thrive when they’re supported as a whole.

And I believe that sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is come back to ourselves and remember that our bodies are often wiser than we give them credit for.

I love my family dearly.
I’m obsessed with my dog.
I’m so grateful for my community.
And I love adventuring, growing, expanding, learning.

Whether you’ve been here for years or just arrived today, thank you for being here.

I’d love to get to know you.

You can tell me where you’re joining from, what season of life you’re currently in or anything you’re curious to learn 🤍 taken in Belly Bliss by @drbrittanyrojo

kids need chiropractic care too!!
.
Now, I want you to forget the videos or thoughts in your head of what you have either seen or heard of w chiropractic care for adults because the way to assess & adjust kids is quite different. My philosophy & training in pediatric chiropractic care is also a little different; I believe less is more, especially when it comes to kiddos. Thanks @icpa4kids & @acornchiroclub 🙏🏻
.
So why should kids get adjusted? Well, a child’s nervous system develops at a rapid rate from conception until about age 5. For some perspective; the brain keeps growing to about 80% of adult size by age 3 and 90% – nearly full grown – by age 5. The brain is the command center of the human body. A newborn baby has all of the brain cells (neurons) they'll have for the rest of their life, but it's the connections between those cells that really make the brain work. This little boy is 5 years old. My job is to free the nervous system of interference, so who wouldn’t want to get their kiddos adjusted during this crucial time of development? 🤷🏼‍♀️ #themoreyouknow
.
All I can say is this dude was mighty comfortable (just look at his body language!!) & was a joy to work with 💕 #vinaka taken in Lautoka, Fiji by @drbrittanyrojo

I’ve witnessed the quiet and courageous strength of mothers.
The sacred unfolding of birth.
The reshaping of men’s capacity.
The energy that connects us all.

My work isn’t just my profession, it’s my calling.

I do this so women can reclaim their power, their rhythm, their knowing.

I believe birth is not just a biological moment. It’s an energetic initiation. A remembering.

This is what I know to be true:
When a woman feels safe in her body, she births differently.

When a couple prepares from love, not worry or “winging it,” they parent differently.

And when a generation is born from presence, the world heals differently.

Just a few things about modern perinatal care that I think are worth saying out loud.

Because families deserve care that is thoughtful, collaborative, respectful, and willing to see the whole picture.

If one of these makes you pause for a second, maybe that’s a good place to start.

Birth preparation is often talked about in terms of positions, breathing, education, birth plans and pelvic mechanics.

And all of those things matter.

But I care just as deeply about the nervous system underneath all of it.

That lens is foundational to chiropractic. Our doctoral training includes thousands of hours in anatomy, physiology, neurology, biomechanics and clinical sciences, because how the body adapts is inseparable from the nervous system.

And birth asks for a lot of adaptation.

Intensity. Uncertainty. Surrender. Change.

Sometimes the work before birth isn’t about adding more information.

Sometimes it’s about helping the body feel safe enough to soften, release an old pattern and find more options.

Because birth leaves an imprint.

For the mother, yes.

But also for the baby.

A baby’s story doesn’t begin the moment they are placed on someone’s chest. They have been developing inside their mother’s body, moving with her, responding to their environment and then moving through birth WITH her.

That’s why I love working with women before birth, through birth and with them and their babies afterward.

Because when I meet a mother and a newborn, I’m not meeting isolated nervous systems.

I’m meeting a dyad.

There is a pregnancy story.
A birth story.
A maternal experience.
A baby experience.

And an entirely new relationship learning how to exist together.

For me, infant care starts with prenatal care.

Because infant care doesn’t begin with the infant.
It begins with the dyad. taken in Denver, Colorado by @drbrittanyrojo

Come into my world.

This is where I think deeply about what it means to live well inside a human body.

About women and the way we move through pregnancy, birth, postpartum and motherhood.

About babies, nervous systems, development and connection.

About the wisdom we’ve inherited, the things we’ve been taught to question, and the things we might need to remember again.

About nature. Movement. Relationships. Intuition. Healing. Growing up and growing into yourself.

And somewhere along the way, I’ve spent more than a decade studying, practicing and working alongside families and people in many of those spaces.

So yes, you’ll find education here.

But you’ll also find conversations about being a woman, building a life that actually feels like yours, questioning the way we’ve always done things, and learning to trust yourself a little more along the way.

I don’t have everything figured out.

I’m just deeply curious about how we can live, birth, parent, heal and exist with a little more intention.

If you are too, I think you’ll like it here.
Come hang out. 🤍 by @drbrittanyrojo

The body doesn’t always need to be pushed into change. Sometimes it just needs to feel safe enough to choose something different.

That belief has always been at the center of how I practice chiropractic, myofascial work & craniosacral therapy.

To me, they are not separate techniques.
They are ways of giving the body new information.
A gentle pattern disruptor.
An invitation to let go of what it has been holding.
To move out of compensation.
To find a little more space.
To adapt differently.

Because the body is always adapting.
Sometimes beautifully.
Sometimes protectively.
Sometimes in patterns that were useful once, but no longer need to stay.

My job isn’t to force the body into what I think it should do. It’s to listen closely enough to understand what it has been asking for. To notice the places that brace. The places that protect. The places that have been working harder than they should.

And then offer an input that feels safe enough for the nervous system to say, "maybe we don’t have to do it this way anymore."

That is the kind of care I believe in.

Not force.
Not chasing symptoms.
Not doing something to the body.

Working with it.
Respecting its intelligence.
Giving it options.
Creating enough safety for change to happen from the inside out.

And after all these years, that is still the part of this work that amazes me most: how much can change when the body finally feels safe enough to soften. taken in Denver, Colorado by @drbrittanyrojo

“My oxygen mask first, right?”

She said those words looking into my eyes, moments after birthing her baby, while she was still finding her way back to feeling safe in her own body.

I stayed close. Eye to eye. Hand in Hand. Alongside her birth team, I held steady as she took the moment she needed.

This work asks so much of us. To stand strong while remaining soft. To stay grounded in the intensity and deeply attentive to the woman moving through it. To hear “I need a minute” and understand how much courage those words can hold.

In that moment, I was reminded how much our presence matters. The energy we bring into a room. The gentleness in our voice. Our willingness to stay close when someone feels overwhelmed.

She needed somewhere to rest her eyes. Someone who could hold the space while she caught her breath.

And she trusted me to be there.

That is something I will never take lightly.

Supporting birth changes us in ways we could never prepare for. I carry these moments into my hands, into how I listen, into how I meet the woman in front of me—even when she hasn’t yet found the words for what she needs.

They deepen the way I care for women through every stage of their lives. Because the need to feel safe, seen, and supported carries far beyond the birth room.

Again and again, this work brings me back to being fully present in the moment.

To be invited close.
To hold steady with tenderness.
To make room for a woman to care for herself while she is giving so much.

“My oxygen mask first, right?”

Yes, mama.
You matter, too. 🤍 taken in Denver, Colorado by @drbrittanyrojo

More of THIS energy, please.

Women supporting women.
Providers celebrating providers.
Different perspectives at the same table without anyone needing to prove theirs is the most important one.

Because I’m tired of the competition, truly.

I’m tired of professions feeling like they have to diminish another profession to validate their own.

And I’m definitely tired of pretending any one of us can do it all.

We can’t.

Different education. Different training. Different lenses. Different strengths.

That’s the whole point.

I don’t want to be everything to everyone. I want to be really damn good at what I do and know incredible people who are really damn good at the things they do.

I want to refer freely.
Share knowledge.
Celebrate other women’s businesses.
Ask questions.
Learn from people who see the body, birth, babies, motherhood and healing differently than I do.

There is enough ego in healthcare already.

I’m much more interested in building the village.

So if you need me, I’ll be over here in my little corner of the internet…

dancing with mothers,
celebrating the wins,
holding space when things feel heavy,
helping women ask better questions,
encouraging families to trust themselves,
and loudly cheering for the women doing beautiful work beside me.

We don’t have to be the same to be on the same team.

And I think women are infinitely more powerful when we stop competing for space and start creating more of it for each other. 🤍 taken in Denver, Colorado by @drbrittanyrojo
