I got home so late last night after catching up with the incredible Ariana Ferch following her amazing performance as Liesl in The Broadway tour of The Sound of Music, so I’m just now posting this. I am so grateful that I not only have gotten to work with this amazing singer and person but that I also got to work with her super talented older sister and have gotten to know and love her whole family. While we teachers could constantly complain about how little we get paid, we also need to point out the extreme benefits of this profession. To watch your students realize their dreams and to have had a small part in it feels so good. Ari, I’m so so proud of you and you deserve all the success in the world! And all my love to the entire Ferch family ❤️ taken in Wanda L. Bass School of Music by @drcatherinemcdaniel

Brava to alumna @ari_ferch -- a double @ocumusictheater / @ocu.vp major from the studio of @drcatherinemcdaniel starring as Liesl in @soundofmusicontour -- for her new interview with Brandy McDonnell of @_theoklahoman !

"They definitely prepare you very well ... at OCU," she told @brandybamok , who notes: "The Spokane, Washington, native said she first came to Oklahoma to visit her sister, @natalyafisher15 , a 2018 OCU graduate who appeared in @lyrictheatreokc 's productions of "Assassins," "Titanic" and "A Christmas Carol." 'She enjoyed her time at OCU, and I could just see the training that she received throughout the years. I'd visit the campus, and it felt very welcoming and known - less scary than other colleges,' Ferch said. 'I'd wanted to do ballet, and I was nervous to get into the performing and theater world, because it's intense. And Oklahoma definitely felt like the most calming and peaceful and wonderful audition.'" #GoStars by @drcatherinemcdaniel

Emmie has still been looking for her Dada around the house. 😭 I decided to take her to school with me today so she could be with more people and I think she wasn’t the only one who benefited from it. ❤️ Maybe Wednesdays are just going to be Emmie day at school… by @drcatherinemcdaniel
