Sometimes you just need someone to say it out loud 🗣️

You are exactly where you are supposed to be and you are more capable than you give yourself credit for on the hard days
The doubt that creeps in does not change who you actually are or what you are actually built for 🌟

You have a purpose and it is bigger than the fear 💫
You got this and I mean that!

There was a time when I thought wearing my hair in braids somehow didn’t fit the image of what a “respectable doctor” was supposed to look like.

So I separated parts of myself: professional Danielle and just… me.

But the older I get, the more I realize that professionalism and authenticity were never mutually exclusive.

Showing up as the truest, most authentic version of myself doesn’t make me any less of a doctor. If anything, it makes me a better one.

Go do and be whoever and whatever you want to be!!! by @drdanielleedwards

Nobody said it was going to be easy.
And then I went and made it harder on purpose 😭

Medical school. Residency. Surgery. The years of sacrifice that most people never see behind the title 🌟

But here is the thing about choosing hard things, they build you into someone you could not have become any other way 🤍

Would I do it all over again?
Every single time!

Two choices every single morning.
And the miles don’t run themselves!

Every early alarm, every dark parking lot, every moment before the world wakes up is a decision to choose the second option 🌟
The dream doesn’t chase itself. That part is on us

The answer has always been clear 🖤

Not just knowledgeable but compassionate. Not just skilled but trustworthy. Not just a doctor but someone who actually makes people feel seen and cared for 💫

Every single one of those words was intentional and every single one of them still guides how I show up for my patients today 🤍

That’s the kind of doctor I set out to be and that’s the kind of doctor I’m still becoming 🌟

This is your reminder 🫵🏼

Not to play small, not to hold back, not to show up as anything less than everything you are capable of 💫

You woke up today. That’s already something. Now do something with it 🌟
Average was never the goal and it’s not starting today 🏆

Somebody has to do it 🫶🏼

Holding it down in the operating room and still showing up like this 💫

Foot surgeon and a baddie. Simultaneously. Without apology 🌟
Not everyone can pull that off but here we are

The secret is out 🏃🏻‍♀️🖤
Foot surgeon by day, runner always, and aging backwards in the process ✨💅🏼

Running does something for the body and the mind that nothing else quite matches and I am living proof 🤍
Young, focused and just getting started!

Nobody sees what it actually takes 🖤
The tears between patients. The debt. The hands held in the most sacred and heartbreaking moments. The sleep that was sacrificed again and again ✨

The fear of not being enough. The failures that could have ended it but didn’t. An entire decade poured into something bigger than yourself 🤍

That is what is behind the white coat
Not just a degree. A person who chose to keep going when every reason to stop was right there
