It is with the heaviest heart that I share that the family and I said goodbye to Bear (“Bozzy”, “Boz dog”, “Bojy Boj”, “Bozzy girl”) on the 23rd of December in our home… I have not been able to look back on photos until now 💔…

Thank you darling Bear for being the best pup anyone could ask for… you were the best little mate, side kick and companion… Your presence and cuddles made me feel calm and peaceful… You would look at me with this wise expression, always knowing what was going on…

Oh how I am going to miss you my sweet girl… 💔 You went through so much in your almost 12 years of life… 💔I am sorry I couldn’t fix everything in the end Boz doggy…

As a vet, skin disease is one of the most common conditions I see in dogs and cats. 🐶🐾🐈

It is important that the underlying cause of the skin condition is diagnosed before treatment is commenced. 🙏 🩺

A common step in this process is a “Food Elimination Trial”. This is performed to rule out any dietary related skin and/or gut sensitivities or allergies.

Royal Canin Hypoallergenic is a diet I recommend for this trial and potentially part of the treatment plan going forward.

How does Royal Canin Hypoallergenic work?
🐾 It contains hydrolysed proteins (the immune system cannot recognised them and therefore does not react to them)
🐾 It also contains fatty acids, which help to improve skin barrier function
🐾 This is one of the only safe options for young growing animals with food related sensitivities/allergies

If your dog or cat has skin or gut problems, discuss them with a vet you trust. Make a diagnostic plan then treatment plan to help them feel their best again! 🐾❤️
