🐴 Meet Dolly! Every horse in our herd has a one-of-a-kind personality—and each plays an important role in helping children and adults with disabilities build confidence, independence, and hope. Today, the spotlight belongs to Dolly!

After deciding the limits of a hippotherapy program weren’t for her, Dolly found her way to us through Haley Rountree. She arrived at age 21 just when our herd needed a steady presence, stepping in after former herd boss Smut. Dolly isn’t one to push to the front—she quietly and patiently waits her turn, bringing calm to everyone around her. 💛

🌟 Dolly at a glance: She’s a Quarter Horse who retired from life as a cutting horse at 21 to teach people with disabilities. Now 26, she still has what it takes to inspire independence—with plenty of patience to share!

Every Ride Begins with Someone Who Cares. Before a rider finds confidence, someone makes it possible. Please make a donation or consider sponsoring Dolly! https://www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/1207722 by @dreamcatchertx

One horse. A handful of riders. One powerful vision.

Since 1999, 🐴 Dream Catcher Stables has grown from a small pilot program into a thriving Adaptive Riding community serving families across Greater Houston. Through every challenge, relocation, and milestone, our mission has remained the same: help children and adults with disabilities build confidence, independence, and life skills through the extraordinary connection between horse and rider.

Your gift keeps the mission moving. Unrestricted donations help care for our horses, maintain a safe facility, support our riders, and sustain the daily operations that make every lesson possible. 💙 Donate today and help create the next breakthrough—one ride at a time.

🐴 More than a riding lesson, it’s a path to confidence, strength, and connection.

At Dream Catcher Stables, adaptive riding brings individuals with physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities together with horses in a supportive environment. Each lesson is tailored to the rider and can help build balance, core strength, focus, communication, self-esteem, and social connection.

Whether walking independently or using a wheelchair to get you there, at Dream Catcher Stables people with disabilities can participate both as a rider and as a volunteer. to the extent they are able.

Thanks to generous donors and dedicated volunteers, our riders never pay for lessons. You can help make the next life-changing ride possible. Donate, volunteer, or share this post today. by @dreamcatchertx

Why Volunteer?

Volunteers are the heart 💓 of Dream Catcher Stables. 🐴 Whether you're leading a horse, side-walking beside a rider, feeding our herd before sunrise, or helping prepare for a lesson, every task helps create opportunities for individuals with disabilities to grow in confidence, independence, and joy.

😊 Come When You Can! Whether you can volunteer every weekend or only once a month... whether you have an hour or an entire morning... there is always a place for you at Dream Catcher Stables. Students, retirees, families, working professionals, and community groups all make our mission possible. Every hour matters.

They don’t know they’re changing lives. They don’t understand therapy goals or lesson plans. They don’t know when a rider is celebrating a personal milestone or overcoming a fear that has taken years to face. They simply show up—day after day—with quiet patience, steady hearts, and a willingness to carry someone who needs them.

Every horse in our herd has a unique personality, and everyone has become an important partner in helping children and adults with disabilities build confidence, independence, and hope so let’s meet Charlie!

🐴 My Breed: Thoroughbred ✨I came to Dream Catcher because: After careers in racing, eventing, and dressage, it was time for a different kind of adventure. My owner wanted me to spend my days sharing patience, trust, and confidence with riders who needed a steady friend. 💬People say I’m: Tall. Gentle. Sweet. 😄My favorite thing: Showing riders that strength and kindness can go hand in hand. 🤞What I hope you’ll remember: The fastest horse isn’t always the one who changes the most lives.

❤️Every Ride Begins with Someone Who Cares. Before a rider finds confidence, someone makes it possible. Please donate or consider sponsoring Charlie!

☀️ We put the “neigh” in summer slowdown—but the learning never took a vacation! With back-to-school season around the corner, we’re crossing our hooves for cooler weather and the return of our full Saturday and Sunday riding program. 🐴

At Dream Catcher Stables, volunteers aren’t just helping—they’re the mane attraction. 💙 From leading horses and side-walking with riders to feeding the herd before sunrise and preparing lessons, every helping hand creates opportunities for individuals with disabilities to build confidence, independence, and joy.

Each session builds skills, keeps riders moving forward, and strengthens the grant support that helps Dream Catcher Stables stay in the saddle all year long.
