Welcome October 🧡

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month 🎗

Did you know, people with Down syndrome are not always happy? They experience the full range of human emotions & moods, like anyone else.

Jaime is officially in his teenage era, and he does NOT like taking pictures anymore. He actually gets mad when I ask him to take one 😖

Horses have a unique way of creating calm, trust, and connection.

Equine therapy can support emotional regulation, confidence, sensory awareness, and physical engagement through experiences that feel relational rather than clinical. For many participants, simply being in these spaces can feel so empowering and freeing.

We’re grateful Sit With Me had the opportunity to be part of Saturday’s event at the Dreamcatcher Stables 💜

@dreamcatchertx will be having two more free events, one on May 23rd and 31st. Come out and support them!

Let me introduce you to Dreamcatcher Stables. This is a place of peace, relaxation, and support.

Their mission is “to provide a place in perpetuity where people with disabilities can be successful, equal, and capable, growing to their maximum life’s potential through interaction with horses in a positive environment”. The dreams within this place create such an environment of gratitude, relaxation, and pure bliss on the stables’ property. It is an all-volunteer public charity.

Over the next few weekends, May 16th, 23rd, and 31st, Dream Catchers is hosting a free event where you can come and meet the horses and get to know the community. Sit With Me will be there tomorrow! See the next post for details. Come and support this amazing charity!
