Towards the end of last year, I spoke at the Turning Point Youth Empowerment & Crime Prevention Forum hosted by the Dreamwork Foundation, and it’s one that’s really stayed with me.

What stood out most was meeting and hearing the stories of so many young people becoming adults, finding their way back, looking for purpose, guidance and a second chance. It was a strong reminder that early intervention, support and positive role models can genuinely change the direction of a life.

A big thank you to all the presenters and speakers on the day who shared their experiences, insights and commitment to doing the hard, often unseen work in our community. The conversations were honest, grounded and focused on solutions, not judgment.

Grateful for the work the Dreamwork Foundation and its partners continue to do, and for the opportunity to be part of such an important conversation. by @dreamworkfoundation

This experience reminded us why The Dream Work Foundation exists 🤍

Our forum was more than an event. It was a safe space for truth, reflection, and conversations that don’t always get the time or care they deserve 🙏🤝

We came together to speak honestly about youth crime and the power of community engagement, and to reflect on the realities faced by young people through the short film we shared. That film wasn’t just something to watch, it was something to feel 🗣️🎥

The emotion in the room was undeniable. You could sense it in the silence after the film, in the questions that followed, and in the collective understanding that real change begins when we allow ourselves to truly see the experiences of others 👥🫂

To our panel speakers @sudoaustralian.md @crdrphillipzada.meltoncouncil @katinda_ndola and Acting Sergeant Tim Forster from @victoriapolice. Also to our guest speaker @cr.olivia.ball thank you for your courage, insight, and generosity. To the representatives from @cityofmelbourne, thank you for backing community led change. And to our incredible audience your presence, your openness, and your willingness to engage meant everything 🏙️🤍

An unforgettable way to close the year. We move forward grateful, inspired, and more committed than ever.

Every young person holds extraordinary potential,
but potential stays unrealised when we can’t connect as a community ✨

Friday, December the 19th is the turning point.
A night where we stop avoiding hard truths, confront the rising chaos 💪
When we start building the structures that allow our youth to stand tall and not fall through the cracks 🧱

This night is about:
• Truth that cuts through the noise 🔍
• Discipline that’ll build strong foundations🧠
• Courage to face what’s uncomfortable 🦅
• Solutions grounded in reality, not wishful thinking ✅

Melbourne Town Hall — Swanston Hall.
90-130 swanston street, Melbourne VIC 3000
A room full of people willing to do what matters. 💪

If we choose wisdom, action, and responsibility, we can change the trajectory, starting now 🔥

Hope to see you all there 🤍
