Towards the end of last year, I spoke at the Turning Point Youth Empowerment & Crime Prevention Forum hosted by the Dreamwork Foundation, and it’s one that’s really stayed with me.

What stood out most was meeting and hearing the stories of so many young people becoming adults, finding their way back, looking for purpose, guidance and a second chance. It was a strong reminder that early intervention, support and positive role models can genuinely change the direction of a life.

A big thank you to all the presenters and speakers on the day who shared their experiences, insights and commitment to doing the hard, often unseen work in our community. The conversations were honest, grounded and focused on solutions, not judgment.

Grateful for the work the Dreamwork Foundation and its partners continue to do, and for the opportunity to be part of such an important conversation.

I watched The Turning Point a couple of weeks ago and it’s a film that has really stayed with me.

It delivers a powerful message about how quickly young people can become trapped in cycles of fear and punishment and how early support, belief, and guidance can completely change a life’s direction.

Huge congratulations to the DreamWork Foundation for sharing this story. It’s a strong reminder that prevention works, mentorship matters, and the right intervention at the right time can change not just one life, but generations.

👉 Please take a few minutes to watch this short film. It’s time well spent.

Tomorrow I’ll be at The Turning Point – Youth Empowerment and Crime Prevention Forum at Melbourne Town Hall, speaking about an issue that matters deeply to me and to our community.

This is an important conversation about youth, prevention, accountability, and the structures we need to ensure young people don’t fall through the cracks. It’s about facing hard truths, moving beyond slogans, and focusing on practical, grounded solutions that actually make a difference.

I’m proud to be part of this forum and to stand alongside community leaders, advocates, and young voices who are committed to real change.

👉 I encourage you to come along, listen, engage, and be part of the discussion.
