I’ve been retrohipmama for a long time.
The babe behind the brand.
Creative business first, with a side of the life I choose to share. But lately, I’ve been wanting a better balance. Not reinventing myself.
Not rebranding my life.
Not entering some brand-new era. I’m actually just getting back to my original factory settings.
The girl God made me to be. Dre by default. A girl with a million ideas, 47 creative hobbies, a faith that gets tested but doesn’t quit, and who has zero interest in treating aging like a slow fade-out. I also just don’t have the energy or desire to chase the same things I used to. I’m learning how to romanticize rest instead of filling every second with being productive.
I’m setting some solid boundaries around my peace and my time.
I’m trying to manage my own internal expectations (including how I show up as a creative business owner.) So listen, Retro Hip Co. isn’t going anywhere.
Neither is The Craftbook or my shop or the stamps I love making. I’m just giving this space a name that feels a little more like the balance, peace, whimsy, and everyday life I’m settling into. I’m focusing more on life as the driver and the business is coming along for the ride. So hey, 👋 I’m Dre. And welcome to my default, unfiltered, creative life. by @drebydefault

Maybe it is just a book. But look what happens when a bunch of crafty babes get their hands on it. 🥹💛 One of my favorite parts of creating The Craftbook has been watching these pages leave my desk and become completely different things in someone else’s hands. Different styles. Different supplies. Different interpretations. Different ways of craftbooking. And a BIG part of that is thanks to the incredible creative team who takes my little prompts, pages, and ideas and shows us just how many directions they can go. ✂️ Their projects throughout this brand new adventure are exactly what I hoped The Craftbook would inspire! Not “make it like this,” but “ohhhh...what could I do with this?” Because this was never supposed to be another creative thing to keep up with or get right. It was designed to help us find our way back to crafting without all the pressure. And apparently, we’re doing exactly that. 🥹 Big love to my crafty babes + creative team for making this little Art Department feel like such a fun place to belong. ✏️💛 @lot95_designs @shannondombkowski @caroline_mae_m @cabotcovecreations @papercutgoods @suzlee72 #craftbooking #thecraftbook #retrohipco by @drebydefault

Girl yes, you can make a strand of lights! And there’s a bow. And arrows. And quirky lines. And different star shapes. And tons of cute words. Homecoming is such a fun stamp and obviously wants to come home with you. See what else is available for the HOMECOMING presale happening through 10/6! Comment CBVOL2 for the link! by @drebydefault

She’s got the look. She’s bringing the activities. And she’s very considerate of your already ridiculous holiday calendar. 🫣 HOMECOMING is on her way with team spirit, cozy comforts, holiday cheer, and something to do besides scroll. Doodle a little. Make a mess. Invite your people. Leave half the pages for later. She won’t take it personally. The Craftbook: Vol. 2 presale is OPEN October 1–6, with five additional stamp sets joining the party. And if Volume 1 was our first date…subscriptions are your chance to make it official. 😉 Bring HOMECOMING home. 🏠 Link in bio to shop or comment CBVOL2 and I’ll send it right to your inbox! by @drebydefault
