Actor, creator, and honest storyteller.
In this interview, Dreez Cox shares his journey into art, the challenges of not being “cast by default,” and the conscious choice to turn difference into strength.

We’re happy to celebrate Dreez Cox on an incredible milestone. 🤩

Dreez has landed the leading role in two short films, Benny and Karmann, both selected for the 2026 Cannes Film Festival Industry Screening Program.

Karmann has already made a strong impact, winning the 2025 “Yes We Cannes” competition for Best Film, along with awards for Best Cinematography, Best Acting Ensemble, Best Director, and the Audience Award.

Congratulations to Dreez and the entire teams behind these outstanding projects. We can’t wait to see what’s next at Cannes. 🎬✨ #Cannes2026 #ActorSuccess #TheActorsHome #Karmann #Benny #FilmFestival #YesWeCannes #ActorsJourney by @dreezcox

This was a very emotional and honest speech after winning at Filmapalooza.

I said I’m wired differently.
I said I’ll never give up.
And I meant every word.

I’m proud of who I am.

None of this would be possible without our crew. Thank you for believing.

“A few years ago, I played a role in a short film where I (sorry again) killed the amazing @susannemiddelberg with a brick. What I didn’t know back then, was that she was one of the best portrait photographers in the Netherlands.

Now, years later, I needed new casting photos — and reached out to her. This time, no role, just me. Bald, strong, tattooed, and finally confident enough to show that on camera. Even though tattoos are still seen as taboo in the industry, it was important for me to show up as I am.

And wow — she captured me in a way no one has before. These shots are golden. Go check out her page — she’s incredible.
I hope to sit in front of her lens again soon.”
