Ook film krijgt een plek op BUITEN DIENST. 🎬 Op de verdieping van Zaal De Golmeerzouw kan je doorlopend werk ontdekken van Dreez Cox en Natasja Briers.

Acteur, schrijver en maker Dreez Cox beweegt zich tussen film, televisie en eigen projecten waarin werkelijkheid en perceptie voortdurend in elkaar grijpen. Met de kortfilms Benny en Karmann, samen gerealiseerd met Aron Quadu, kreeg hij internationale erkenning. Beide films werden geselecteerd voor de Cannes Short Film Corner 2026 en vielen in de prijzen op verschillende internationale festivals.

De Tongerse filmmaker Natasja Briers won in 2026 op Filmfestival Oostende de prijs voor beste kortfilm met Still Life. In deze donkere dystopische film leeft de mensheid in een toekomst waarin spreken verboden is. Via dans, theater en kunst zoekt een verzetsgroep toch naar manieren om zich uit te drukken. Briers vertelt dat verhaal bewust in de beeldtaal van de stille film.

Tijdens BUITEN DIENST zijn de kortfilms doorlopend te bekijken tussen 13u00 en 18u00.

Two weeks ago: a genre drawn from a hat, a character, a prop, one mandatory line of dialogue… and 48 hours to turn it all into a film. 🎬

No time to overthink: just write, shoot, edit, deliver… and somehow enjoy every chaotic second of it.

“Trouw aan A” premiered last Sunday at Cinema Cartoons in Antwerp, and what a ride it’s been. So grateful to have been part of this insanely talented team and to be trusted with the director duties and by @dreeznuts with the mustache scaping.

From the behind-the-scenes madness to the final screening: 8 nominations, 2nd place for the Jury Prize, and 3rd place for the Audience Award. 🤍 Let’s do it again soon.

48 hours to write, shoot and edit a film.

THE RESULTS ARE IN, AND … “Trouw aan A” picked up 8 nominations at the 48 Hour Film Project Antwerp, won Best Poster and Best Use of Genre, took 3rd with the audience and 2nd with the jury.

That second place allows us to participate in the “Yes We Cannes” competition coming November, LFG!

Trees and Dreez wrote it overnight, Xavier directed, Dieter and Lewis shot it, Younes cut it, Arno made the poster that just won its own award, and Stéphanie, Katja and Dreez carried the whole thing on screen.

Sidequest completed; we made a short film in less than 48h : )

Quick explainer; the @48hourfilmproject hands you a genre out of a hat on Friday night, plus a character, a prop and a line of dialogue that every team in the city has to use. Then the clock starts .. 48 hours later it has to be written, shot, edited and handed in.

Thirteen friends said yes and joined me for this @culturecrush.be adventure. The result is called ‘TROUW AAN A’ .. and If you know me, you’ll know it’s filled the inside jokes, layered references and plot twists : )

It premieres Sunday Aug 30 around 15h15 at Cinema Cartoon’s in Antwerp, with the @antwerp48hourfilmproject awardshow right after at 16h30. Can’t wait to watch it on a big screen : )

Our short film ‘TROUW AAN A’ premieres Sunday 30 August around 15h15 in Cinema Cartoon’s. The 48H Film Project Award show follows right after at 16h30.

Come watch our movie the way it was meant to be watched; big screen, dark room, and a hundred other people who spent the same weekend doing the same slightly mad thing; create a film in less than 48h.

Rampage Open Air 2026 I AM SHOOK.
The biggest DnB festival in the world, and I got to play the Jungle Stage on its 25 years of STARWARZ anniversary edition.

Old friends, new friends, heroes, homies.
Faces I hadn’t seen in 25 years, some in 2, everyone in between.
I had no idea this many people would show up. But you did and you showed out.

Sharing that stage with pioneers and peers I grew up idolising, on the day STARWARZ hosted it, is one of the most important gigs I have played to date and i’m so glad to be back. So thank you!
