“Say Yes to Less” 🎤✨ My newest TEDx Pontiac Talk is about one painful truth:
The word “yes” was slowly costing me my peace. For years, I thought burnout was just part of being ambitious. But burnout isn’t something that happens to us, it’s something we choose to participate in! Preparing for this talk, I included my daughters in this message… because I realized:
If I model exhaustion as success, they’ll believe it’s required of them too. I don’t want my girls growing up thinking they have to earn their worth through overwhelm, pressure, constant proving, and people pleasing. And I see this everywhere …. in our Empowered Moms community, in leaders, female founders, entrepreneurs, and high achievers who are carrying the weight of everyone else while slowly losing themselves in the process. Delivering this talk on stage, knowing my daughters were sitting in the audience, I got choked up. Because this calling feels so much bigger than me. I’m on a mission to help people Say Yes to Less.
Not less ambition.
Not less purpose.
But less burnout.
Less guilt.

Some things in life get sweeter with time… and Empowered Moms is one of them! 💕 What a beautiful day of connection, celebration, and filling our cups alongside so many incredible warrior women! I feel so blessed to have participated in this year’s Empowered Moms event in so many meaningful ways, especially sharing our global Daily Self-Love practice with a room full of women who spend so much of their lives pouring into others. ✨ Last year I took the stage at Empowered Moms Live and I was so inspired by the community that Dr. Emily Jacobs built that I joined More Than Moms shortly after. At the time, I felt like it was a big leap for my business… making an investment at that level felt scary, invigorating and bold. BUT I was ready. It felt like I was UNLEVELING Sunny Side Up Wellness and it was time to expand. 💥 Fast forward to Empowered Moms this year, and I attended as a vendor to share my book and offered mini hand massages. What I loved so much was that 1-on-1 time with the ladies lead to deep conversations, prayer circles and even some tears. You could feel the Holy Spirit moving in that room. It was amazing to watch so many friends take the stage this year sharing their stories and hearts. 💕 Reflecting on everything that’s happened this past year in my business … saying yes to speaking on stages… writing a book… launching SHINE Brighter… hosting 48 women at @sunshineretreat_mi ☀️ … supporting Untamed 2.0 w/ @meghankristineofficial + @bethjamesyoga … guiding dozens of women inside @thecleanseclub.co … hosting a Wellness Retreat at U of M w/ @lindsaya_com @beckywilson.bodywhisperer & @thehydratedmom @jeanettedaniellewellness —- it’s pretty incredible what can happen when God is at the center. Swipe ⬅️ EMPOWERED MOMS EVENT is a beautiful community created by my dear friend, Dr. Emily Jacobs. Emily’s heart, vision, and leadership continue to inspire me. Emily has created something so special, a space where mothers are encouraged to remember that their dreams and voices matter, and there is still SO much life waiting for them to live and create! The panels were phenomenal, the conversations were meaningful, and getting to reconnect with old friends while making beautiful new connections was so wonderful. One of the most tender parts of today, was having so many women come up to me to share their love for On The Wings Of Angels, tell me how our work has touched their lives, and how deeply they believe in what we’re building. Those moments mean more to me than I could ever adequately put into words. In fact, I cried on the way home from all the love that was shown to me today. Thank you all for coming up to me! Behind every one of those conversations is another reminder of how far love, compassion, and community can reach. Sometimes we’re so busy doing the work that we don’t get to stop and see just how many hearts it’s touching. Today gave me a little glimpse of that, and I am SO grateful. Emily, I am so proud of you and the beautiful movement you’ve created. What a gift you are to us all. Every time I walk into a room full of women like this, I’m reminded just how important it is to surround yourself with the right people. Women who love being moms but also wonder what else is possible for them. Women who are building businesses, chasing dreams, and trying to figure out how to do it all without feeling like they’re falling short somewhere. One thing @lorrenablack said at Empowered Moms really stuck with me: “Perfection is not the cost of entry.” And I think that’s something I needed to hear. Because I know I spend so much time trying to be the best mom, wife, friend, and business owner, giving everyone 100% of me. And the reality is, that’s just not possible all the time. I think a lot of us already know we need to give ourselves more grace. But actually doing it? That’s a whole different story. Such a beautiful day filled with thoughtful details, great conversations, and a reminder that we’re all figuring it out as we go. ❤️ #EmpoweredMoms #WomenSupportingWomen #MomEntrepreneur by @dremilyjacobs

Signing 150+ books for our Empowered Moms Live attendees, knowing every woman in the room will receive a signed copy of our bestselling Empowered Moms book. ❤️ But the most meaningful part? My kids get to watch. My daughter just wrote and illustrated three little books of her own in first grade. And now, she gets to watch her mom sign over 150 copies of a book she helped bring to life. THIS is what it’s all for. It’s about showing our kids what’s possible when you believe in an idea, put in the work, and have the courage to bring it to life. I hope my children never feel like their dreams are too big. I hope they grow up seeing what’s possible and believing they can create something meaningful, too.
