Well… here we are! 🥹

This sport has given me so much. There’s something about being in the water, floating freely, the smell of chlorine, hearing the bubbles, watching the line at the bottom of the pool, the chase to get your hand on the wall first. Swimming has introduced me to so much and made me a better person. It has been a grind, a place to escape, a place of no escape, a family, and most of all my home for the last 18 years. I’m forever grateful for everyone who has supported, challenged, and believed in me.

It’s been 3 months since my last collegiate race — I haven’t taken more than a month off in the last 8 years. This being said, I’ve had time to reflect and embrace what’s to come. Instead of holding onto what I could have done, I am taking action to do what I can do now. Sometimes the person you become while chasing your goal is better than actually hitting your goal. You don’t always have to be the best, but you owe it to yourself to be YOUR best, whatever that may be.

On that note, it’s time for people to also know me for something else 🎤

Episode 596: Interview with former Louisville Swimmer Drew Collins:

In this episode, Drew and I talked about the importance of the team, not only choosing to swim at Louisville but also swimming at the school as well. We also talked about being voted captain with 5 other guys, and how it is important to be your authentic self. Lastly, we talked about now combining the different communities he has been a part of being a former collegiate swimmer, and now starting his singing career. Thank you for joining the podcast Drew!
