Late earth day post. Large Atlas collages photographed in sequence in the landscapes that inspired them. I am very excited to present these and other works next month (5/17) with @pazdabutler in Houston. Thanks @unidoots for the assistance shooting these out there on earth. #analogcollage #experimentalanimation by @drewbaconstudio

🟧🚶‍♂️🟨 2015 (ish) Painting with photographic transfers of dolly walking sequence I took on the street in 2008, swipe for the animation. Foot and wheel is so primary in human locomotion, everything we own, carried on the great chain. To the sound of a billion footsteps a second. (I was really existential in my painting phases)

I found painting a hard medium to carry animation, it wants to harden up and dry, it asks for a plan and a plot and a type of order that I’m just too disordered for. There are a few of these out there though and sometimes I scratch my head and think I left something on the table. I’m grateful for that period of work. Next existential phase, maybe I’ll paint.
