PALM | 200T & 500T 16mm

In South Los Angeles, a palm tree caretaker faces the quiet unraveling of his work and identity.

Palm is premiering on June 24th at the Palm Springs International ShortFest.

“We shot on Super 16mm and processed and scanned at the Kodak Film Lab in NYC. Shooting on film was extremely important to us, as it encouraged the kind of attentiveness the film was built around. Working with non-actors, we couldn’t rely on endless takes and coverage, which forced us to be deliberate about what we captured. The texture of Super 16mm also complemented the physical nature of the work in the film—the ropes, trees, dust, and tactile labor. The film has a strong visual language, thanks to Connor’s eye and your beautiful film stock, and we would love to promote the film with Kodak.”
