Coming soon to Anatara Medicine, as part of our one-of-a-kind Metabolism and Mitochondrial Treatment program…

Molecular Hydrogen Inhalation therapy is being studied for a variety of benefits.

Nature’s most simple Element exists in its pure elemental form in a miniscule amount as a gas in the atmosphere. When concentrated in treatment it acts as a unique selective antioxidant that other traditional antioxidant pathways do not address as readily.

It also independently amplifies additional powerful antioxidant gene programs in the body.

Stay tuned for more on how we are uniquely situating this and other treatments in the most targeted mitochondrial medicine program and treatment suite anywhere.

Lifestyle Athlete Attributes: Power, Force Absorption/Production, Positional Strength

 This training sequencing targets:
1. Knee/Quad dominant for absorption/production with partial jumps on the hack squat (Achilles/Calf and Quad Tendon Elasticity and fascial integrity)
2. Hip dominant power with heavy KB swings
3. Positional strength using load movement and variable center of gravity with #viprpro

All attributes that fade with aging if not trained.

Sequences are a big feature in the #lifestyleathlete framework, using patterns that won’t overly compete with each other while training different adaptations.

Although these are advanced versions, there is always a place to start with lighter loads and different versions of these exercises.

Stay bouncy, stay strong

Lifestyle Athlete Attribute: Tissue Resilience/Durability/Injury Inoculation:

Overcoming Load/Force over time in end range positions can feed neural and physical change in tissues over time.

As we age, tissue elasticity, overall fascial quality and thus resilience to rapid stretch under load (eccentric load) decreases.

Incidence of quadriceps tendon/patellar tendinitis is significant in a spectrum of athletes, especially the #lifestyleathletes that start a workout program only to be waylaid by this nagging issue.

Incidence of quadriceps rupture by Age and Factors:
* Age <40: Rare, usually due to high-energy sports injuries or direct trauma.
* Age 40-69: Incidence increases, particularly in men
* Age 50-60+: Peak incidence, often related to degenerative changes, decrease in lean mass, muscular or comorbidities like diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and obesity.
* Mechanism: Most commonly caused by a simple fall with eccentric loading of the quadriceps muscle

These types of exercises can go a long way to reducing your risk.

As we age, tissue elasticity, overall fascial quality and thus resilience to rapid stretch under load (eccentric load) decreases.

Incidence of achilles rupture peaks at age 45-50 years.

This type of exercise, along with low and moderate level plyometric training for the foot/ankle/achilles/calf can go a long way to reducing your risk.

Not New Concepts, New Buzzword Moniker:

Let me get this out there, I am a capitalist.

I am also a health professional.

It is a constant effort sifting through the mountains of junk evidence, junk science and clever marketing around health consumerism.

The Health industrial complex (the supplement and health product industries specifically) have benefitted handsomely by intricately weaving the junk evidence and marketing together.

This formulation is the “Blue Pill”.

Adjectives to describe a “Blue-Pilled” Archetype:
* Trusting
* Vulnerable
* Credulous
* Naive
* Unconfident
* Idealistic
* Enthusiastic
* Externally Motivated

Adjectives to describe a “Red-Pilled” Archetype:
* Critical
* Informed
* Analytical
* Realistic
* Pragmatic
* Independent
* Disillusioned

In the full video, I talk about 5 ways we can all avoid riding the “Blue-Pill” train as it relates to health and wellness in 2026 and beyond.

I’m curious, how are you all sifting through the information, who are you following, what sources do you trust the most?

It depends….In this training session, I was focusing on energy systems development, specifically rapid energy from PCr (phosphocreatine) and glycolytic pathways (rapid access energy).

10 rounds of 30 seconds AirDyne bike working to maintain wattage at 75-80% of peak sprinting wattage.

I chose 90 seconds rest to challenge recovery, lactate buffering and energy recuperation.

***THE BIG DIFFERENCE…is what I did during that 90 seconds.

I used my favorite loaded movement tool #viprpro with some movement patterns that require low intensity, but a degree of coordination and integration.

WHY?

Maintaining Movement Quality During Fatigue is an athlete AND #lifestyleathlete attribute.

When our arms and legs feel like jelly —> movement quality suffers; When movement quality and neural control suffer —> Performance suffers AND Injury Risk Increases.

This is why Athletes perform certain skill features under high fatigue (ie Free throws in Basketball, Penalties in Soccer, Ball control/dribbling drills in both basketball and soccer, etc, etc.)

For #lifestyleathletes the same rules apply, with LESS FOCUS ON PERFORMANCE (we don’t get paid to perform physically, or at least most of us don’t), and MORE FOCUS ON INJURY PREVENTION.

Next time you’re working high-effort training with sprints/semi-sprints like this, try to choose low intensity movement patterns that require neural control demand (like the above, low level agility/footwork, a sport specific skill, catching, shooting, dribbling, martial arts drilling, etc.)

Send more ideas to share, I’d really like to hear them.

Happy New Year!

The term “Healthspan” has had its time in the sun in recent years. In my opinion, the premise is entirely valid.

But, what about performance-span?

I made this term up, just as “healthspan” derived from lifespan as functional medicine 2.0 evolved and tried to become medicine 3.0. Recently, integrative health influencers have coined “medicine 4.0”, as a nod to focusing a long overdue research and health paradigm focus on populations that have been screened out of the mountain of peer-reviewed research, women specifically.

How long through our healthspan should our performance-span track in parallel?

What type of performance “phases” should we expect and plan to execute on as we age?

Too little space to elaborate here, but food for thought

Given the robust evidence correlating physical attributes and healthspan, I believe we would do well to focus on our performance-span.

First off, performance is relative for everyone. For me, it is being able to engage in any sport I enjoy, at any time, and at a high level.

For you, it may be playing with and keeping up with your children and grandchildren through formative years, as well as athletic endeavors; doing so pain free and with resilience into your 60’s and 70’s, and even 80’s.

I don’t have children, but if I did, I would have my eye on that 💯.

Whatever performance means to you, the work never ends.

Send a note about what performance means to you.

Get to work!
