~*~ AFTERKII TALKBACK & RAVE ~*~

⚡️Saturday 9/16
⚡️Doors at 3:30

Join us for a deeper dive into the research and technologies behind the 2023 ARC Combustible performances with a talkback facilitated by Tiare Ribeaux with Ambrose Trataris aka DestroyHerr and Driven Arts Collective followed by afterki IRL <> VR RAVE. A live virtual reality event with DJs will be projected into CounterPulse’s theater space immersing live audiences in the aesthetics and sounds of the virtual reality rave scene and interested audiences can use the Oculus to experience the virtual reality world directly.

This event is free and open to th public!

More about the Moderator:
Tiare Ribeaux is a Kanaka 'Ōiwi filmmaker, artist and creative producer based in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. Her work involves a magical realist exploration of spirituality, labor, and the natural environment, drawing upon the structure of dreamworlds and Hawaiian cosmology to critique both social and ecological imbalances. Her films use visual narrative storytelling and components of speculative fiction and fantasy to reimagine both our present realities and future trajectories of lineage, queerness, place and belonging. Her work often combines with installation elements to create immersive and expanded media experiences. As a curator and producer, she founded B4BEL4B Gallery in 2014 as a platform and community space to prioritize underrepresented + queer artists in media arts, where she was the artistic director for 8 years. taken in CounterPulse by @driven.arts.collective

✨ Meet the Artists ✨ of Digital Milk
.
.
Anna Rebecca Harris is a visual artist, choreographer, and medical researcher. With a BA from Boston University comprising training in painting, video and performance art and literature, she has studied at the Burren College of Art, Ireland, and the University of Oxford, UK, and received an MA in psychology from the University of Chicago, IL. Harris is intrigued by the implications of neuroprocessing on experiential reality and the ways in which technology augments and changes the living, ever-evolving human brain. Trained as an Embodied Movement Facilitator in the tradition of the Deep Body Institute, Anna’s recent work explores gesture in relation to shared space and collective consciousness, where she utilizes the body to describe scientific and poetic truths. Founder of @Driven.Arts.Collective, Anna is continually surprised by the power of communal art-making and the ingenuity of her co-collaborators.
