I WROTE A BOOK! 🥹 And you can order it today!

I can hardly believe I get to share that my first ever children’s book is out in the world, and of course, it’s about elephants 🐘

I wrote this story eight years ago, when I first began learning about the incredible roles elephants play in their ecosystems. The more I discovered, the more I wanted to share their story 🌿

Through so many ups and downs, this book has been a labour of love and I’m excited and nervous to be sharing it. I’m endlessly grateful to @martinaefaulkner for her belief and support every step of the way

And to my dear friend @bylauragirling, whose beautiful illustrations bring Loxo to life, I’m so proud of what we created together 💚

This book is for everyone who believes in elephants, coexistence, and inspiring the next generation to care for our wild world

A very grateful (and slightly teary), Kate 🤍🐘

Why do we trim a rhino’s horn?

Rhino horn is highly valuable on the illegal wildlife market, making rhinos a target for poachers. Carefully trimming the horn can reduce the incentive for poaching and help protect these incredible animals

The procedure is carried out by trained professionals under sedation and does not harm the rhino

The horn grows back too, just like our fingernails, so trimming may need to be repeated

Sometimes conservation means finding practical ways to give wildlife a better chance of survival 🦏💚

When my favourite local cafe asked me to be part of their special autumn menu, I was SO thrilled!

I knew straight away that it had to be about elephants. So, swipe through to learn more about the flavours behind my special!

UK PEOPLE > If you’re in the Midlands, please pop in and give it a try, I’d love to know what you think!

And there’s an extra special reason to support it… @forrestcoffeehouse are kindly donating £100 to the charity chosen by whoever sells the most specials. And you’ve probably guessed it already, mine would be going straight to @elephantsalive supporting their amazing work protecting elephants and helping people and elephants live alongside one another.

Thank you so much, @forrestcoffeehouse! I’m so, so grateful to be part of this and to have the chance to bring a little more elephant love to your autumn menu. 🥹🐘💚 It means so much to me to see something I care so deeply about being supported in this way.

Please be kind to trees 🥺🌳

I’ve had lots of conversations about “autumn arriving early”, but it’s what’s known as a fake autumn. The trees shedding their leaves now are under severe stress, and I think we should learn about this 💚 by @drkatet

Happy World Elephant Day🐘🌍🫶🏻

Today, we celebrate these magnificent animals and the incredible individuals who dedicate their lives to their conservation, preservation and protection. These individuals I had the pleasure of meeting on this occasion. Therefore a special thanks to @elephantsalive @drkatet @jennifer_blondeau_vet @michelledeborahhenley 💚

Elephants are so much more than their size. They are intelligent, emotional and deeply social creatures, playing an essential role in maintaining the balance of our ecosystems. 🌿

As we celebrate World Elephant Day, may we remember that protecting elephants means protecting the habitats, biodiversity and communities that depend on them too.🫶🏻
