Happy #WorldElephantDay! 🐘

Elephants don’t just live in ecosystems, they help shape them.

Together with Dr. Kate Thompson @drkatet, we explored why these giants are so important to our planet.

Happy World Elephant Day🐘🌍🫶🏻

Today, we celebrate these magnificent animals and the incredible individuals who dedicate their lives to their conservation, preservation and protection. These individuals I had the pleasure of meeting on this occasion. Therefore a special thanks to @elephantsalive @drkatet @jennifer_blondeau_vet @michelledeborahhenley 💚

Elephants are so much more than their size. They are intelligent, emotional and deeply social creatures, playing an essential role in maintaining the balance of our ecosystems. 🌿

As we celebrate World Elephant Day, may we remember that protecting elephants means protecting the habitats, biodiversity and communities that depend on them too.🫶🏻

One of the most adorable things you’ll see today with @drkatet 🐧🏡✨

💡 Puffins nest in underground burrows dug into grassy coastal cliffs. They often return to the same nesting site year after year, tidying and maintaining their homes before raising their chicks.

Save this for your wildlife bucket list 📌

Would you let this little guy be your interior designer? 👀

A few lil shots for our first full day in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 what a beautiful day it was. We’re in a totally new area this time, it’s so nice to explore new places, especially when they are covered in lush woodlands and mountains in every direction 🌿

@drkatet made wild camping in Scotland feel like escaping into a world where mountains, mist, and silence do all the talking ⛺🏔️✨ Tag someone you’d get lost in nature with 🌿🤍

💡 Fun Fact: Scotland is one of the few places in Europe where wild camping is widely permitted under responsible access laws.

It’s World Bee Day! 🐘🐝🐝🐝

Did you know elephants naturally avoid bees?

Research by Ndlovu et al. (2023) shows that beehive fences can help reduce human-elephant conflict by protecting crops in a safe, nature-based way.

When maintained well, these fences not only keep elephants away from farmland, but also support local livelihoods through honey production. 🍯

Working with nature, not against it, creates stronger pathways for coexistence. 💚

@drkatet showing the surprisingly busy life of a puffin 🐧✨

Spending the summer months on land, puffins return to their burrows where they raise their chicks, constantly maintaining and cleaning their little underground homes. It’s a whole routine of parenting, nesting, and keeping things in order before heading back out to sea 🌊

Would you have guessed puffins are this hardworking? 👀
