😪💔🐶 My best friend is gone. I am so heartbroken. He drowned in my Parents’ pool while visiting with them. My boy was 16, but was not in a state to leave us yet.
My boy was so strong. He overcame every one of life’s obstacles. I am so saddened that I wasn’t there to give him a boost and save his little scared soul on this faithful Tuesday. I have to keep reminding myself that God don’t make mistakes, and I know it happened all the way it was supposed to, but dammit, it hurts like hell!
Please extend me some grace and love as I need it more than many of you know.
“My Buddy” as I called him was by my side through everything these past 16 years. To know me, you knew my Chauncey. No disrespect to any of you and your fur babies, but my Chaun was THE BEST DOG on the 🌍! He was SO SMART! He even watched TV. We flew across all the regions of this nation thousands of times together. Thank you so much to my big brother Bryan for gifting me with the best gift ever, my Chauncey. I think about my former students who bonded with him over the years. I think about my friends who are family who love him like I do. Those who watched him for me without thinking twice, I am soooo grateful for you over the years. To my Parents, please don’t beat yourselves up. I know you loved him very very much too. 😢
Lastly, I want to say THANK YOU to all of those who surrounded me on this unforgettable Tuesday and have continued to come spend time with me. I will never ever forget you being there for me. I love all of you -and still need you!
Chaun, I am proud to say that I gave you the best life a dog could have dreamt. It’s so sad that both of our resiliency ended in such tragedy. I JUST posted about you 2 days before this happened, and folks were rooting for you, my Boy!
💔💔💔💔💔
🙏🏽 May my Bestest Friend in the Whole Wide World Rest in Heavenly Peace with Coco 🐶 and All of my other perished Loved Ones. When it’s time, I look forward to seeing you at the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈 🌁

Still trying to process this one… 🥹🏆🎬

I walked up to accept this film award with no idea what category we had WON, because I genuinely had no idea we were even in the running! 😂

What a beautiful, unexpected blessing. To see a film created with purpose, passion, and a mission to impact young and all lives receive this kind of recognition means more than I can put into words.

God knew. 🙏🏽✨

Thank you to everyone who believed in LACED: When the Music Stops and helped bring this story to life. This one is for the youth. ❤️🎬🏆
